At some point, I roll over to my back and wake to find Ward perched over me, hands on either side of my stomach, his head tilted to the side. I burst out laughing, which makes the baby kick and Ward jerks slightly. “I don’t know if I should have been spooked by that, or found it as amusing as I did.” I mumble sleepily, and Ward smiles crookedly at me. “He rolled.” Ward says almost sheepishly, and then his tone changes to one of awe. “And I felt it.” I stifle a giggle, and fake a stern look. “He? I thought we already discussed this. How do you know this isn’t our daughter you so boldly speak of?” I break into helpless laughter at the end.
