Nila woke up with a start and stared at the ceiling. The shadows are lengthening, it must be quite late in the day. She must have slept the whole day away. She slowly sat up and noticed Jaden lying next to her, his eyes closed. Did he sleep next to her the whole time she was sleeping?
She rubbed her sleep-encrusted and puffy eyes. The long nap was fortunately dreamless. For once in days, she felt rested. The heaviness in her chest was gone. Her mind is now clearer and she felt her heart sink at how she had raged against Jaden and hid in the bathroom that morning. Her behaviour was inexcusable. Shame again suffused her. She had let the nightmares and her own personal issues get to her and she had lashed out at Jaden.
