Dinner time was an awkward affair. Jaden had initially suggested bringing trays of food to Nila in bed but she did not want it. She had dragged herself out of bed, went to wash her face and forced herself to go to the dining room. Jaden was bringing in the packets of food when she walked into the dining room. He did not say anything but gave her a bright smile as he opened the containers, set places, arranged plates and cutleries for both of them. Nila sat there silently, observing him arrange the food systematically and schooling her expression into one of neutrality. She did not want her anxiety, fear and shame to show in her expression.
