Jaden
The next few days were spent with Jaden feeling as if he was walking on eggshells while Nila remained quiet with erratic mood swings. Sometimes she would appear cheerful and chatty, laughing and joking with Jaden but sometimes, she would withdraw into herself and hide in the room for hours. Jaden would find her curled up in bed, sobbing her heart out, and he could not do anything about it except to get in to lay next to her and hold her to comfort her.
They had not made love for almost two weeks and, due to her mood swings, Jaden was careful not to initiate anything more than a warm cuddle. He did not want to pressure Nila when she was apparently suffering from a mental breakdown due to her PTSD.
At wits’ end and needing someone to talk to, he made a video call to Max.
