Someone was clanging on the front gate and shouting for Maria to open it. Jaden and Nila froze.
“Does that sound like Eric to you?” Nila asked Jaden. He listened. It sounded like Eric. What is he doing?
“Hello! Open up right now!!” Eric was shouting as he continued to clang on the gate with something metallic. They hoped it was something large enough to be used for self defence. Maria might attack him the moment she unlocks the gate.
“What should we do now?” Nila asked Jaden. Eric is creating such a huge diversion for them right now.
“You need to get out right now, I will stay here with Cindy,” Jaden repeated. He gestured to Cindy’s pale face. “Look at her, we can’t wait any longer, she needs immediate medical attention,”
