CHAPTER 15. Devil's Sorrow

1240 Words
EMIR'S POV I woke up because of the ray of sunlight that touches my face, I blink my eyes multiple times trying to adjust vision. My head is also aching very bad, it feels so heavy like there's a stone on top of it. "Urgh!" I groaned when I moved to sit up. Suddenly I noticed the bandage on my upper arm and both of my knuckles. I looked around, I was on a messy bed, with clothes that were scattered all over. I sighed, realizing it was all my wife's clothes, the wife that I won't be seeing anymore in this life. I turned my head to the bedside table where the flowers I picked just yesterday are placed inside a vase. I stretched my arm and reached the vase, holding it, looking at it coldly, and suddenly tossed it hard on the wall. I was breathing hard and my heart was pounding heavily. "New beginnings!? Damn it!" I hissed. "Sir! Are you okay?" Henry burst inside the room "Leave," I ordered. "But Mr. Villafranco, the," "I said leave!" I cut him off. "Sir your wife." He started again, but I glared at him. "Sir, Miss Hope was brought at Mr. Lee's and sir," "What!?" "He refused to receive any assistance, what he wants is for you to show yourself up at Miss Hope's funeral." He informed me, but I can't, I don't want to see my wife with her eyes closed and I can't face her family, I don't know what to tell them, I'm a failure. I can't, I can't face her, I'm sure she'll only scold me and blame me for what happened to her. "Let them be, don't bother me about anything again," "Sir, what about Ms. Ariane?" "Ariane?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows. "Yes sir," "Where did you bring her?" "She's in a room at the basement sir." "Why did you bring her here?" I asked, looking at him viciously. "I'm so sorry sir, but where should I bring her?" He asked with a trembling voice. I got up from the bed and walked in his direction, I saw him stepping backward. "I don't really understand why I'm still keeping you as my assistant after so many mistakes, do you want me to replace you already?" I asked wickedly, but he didn't utter a word, his sweat starting to come out on his forehead. "Take her out of here, to anywhere I don't care and lock her up, make sure she's not going anywhere," I ordered. "Now get out," I said, pointing to the door. "Ye.yes, sir." He responded and went out of the room immediately. I sit back on the bed, feeling frustrated about thinking what's gonna happen to me without my wife. I reached her the dress she wore yesterday morning and brought it to my nose, I sniffed it while feeling her presence. "Tell me, what should I am supposed to do now, my love?" I whispered as I burst into tears. 'I felt so weak, do you see me crying now? I'm sure you are laughing at me, come on, laugh at me, blame me, hate me for as long as you want, I don't care. Just come back to me, please.' I told her inside my thoughts. I stayed inside Hope's room and when I woke up again it's already dark outside. I went inside the bathroom and took a warm shower but when I came out I suddenly remembered that I had no clothes inside her wardrobe. I wrapped my body with a towel and went out of the room going to mine. I went downstairs after, "Mr. Villafranco, I heard about what happened to Miss Hope, I'm so sorry for your loss sir," Karen shyly said. "Stop that, I don't need anyone's sympathy," I told her and walked past her. "Henry, come with me," I ordered when I saw him sitting in the living room while watching the news. News about my life. I walked straight inside the car while Henry sit on the driver's side "Where to sir?" He asked. "To Hope," I said. We use a different car, a car that will not alert the reporters and anyone else who craves information about my life, and we also take a different route. "Sir, are you not going inside?" Henry asked when we arrived at their house. There are a lot of people inside, probably their relatives and friends. I saw Uncle Ruben coming out from the house with Jessica. I wonder why he is not calling me the whole day even after knowing what happens to my wife. "Do you have any information about Nicolo's whereabouts?" I asked Henry. "Nothing yet sir, but don't worry, we'll find him, no matter what." I am quite surprised how calm I am now, I guess losing my wife also drained my energy. I don't know what to do now or where I should start again, I feel like I'm a stray. "Bring me to the whore." I command, "Sir? What about Miss Hope?" Henry asked. "Is she coming back to life if I show myself inside? Tell me that she is then I'll run out rapidly." I told him sarcastically. "But sir, your father in law is worried about you, he just wants to see you and to make sure you're fine after the incident," He said with his head bent down. "Don't you see his face in the hospital? He is blaming me for what happened to his daughter. You think he really wants to see my face?" I sighed. "I just thought that in this time of hardship, it is the family where we can count on and find support." "I don't need your opinion Henry, just do what I told you." He stopped arguing with me and drove the car to Ariane's, to a small apartment with guards outside. I made my entrance and saw her comfortably sitting on the couch while watching a movie. "Emir! I'm so glad that you're finally here!" She jumped in excitement. "Don't touch me!" I pushed her back on the couch and gripped her neck tight. "You are the reason why Hope ran that night!" I furiously hissed at her face. "You killed her!" "Emir! Stop!" She speaks with difficulty as she is choking. "I'm pregnant!" She manages to say, I released her as she immediately gasped for air. "Pregnant? You think I believe you?" I wickedly said. "Yes! I am two months pregnant and this is your child! No matter how hard you resist, even if you deny it, you can't change the fact that I am carrying your child," she said bluntly like she is challenging me. "Really?" I asked viciously. "Henry!" I yelled and he rushed inside. "Yes, Mr. Villafranco?" "Bring this w***e to Doctor Jaime to run some tests for a prenatal paternity test," I ordered him. "Right away sir." "You think you're the first to claim to have a child with me? No one can fool me." I told her and turned my heels to walk out, but before I leave I turned back to her and say, "I never wish to have a child with anyone except with my wife Hope, so let me inform you as early as now, that even if that child passed the test he will not be considered as my heir," I honestly told her and left.
