Derek’s P.O.V. As soon as we walked through the front door, the smell of garlic bread and tomato sauce came waving at us. As usual, my mother had pulled out all the stops in order to make the perfect family lunch, she had probably already been roaming around the kitchen ever since this morning. Not that she minded, she loved to cook, probably as much as she liked to have her entire family in the house on Sundays. The smell always took me back to my childhood, growing up here in this house, when these four walls had still been my home. And I smiled, looking down at Jessica, my new home, my forever home.
