CHAPTER V - SIDE A: THE GOLDEN SEED (2)
Twenty-one days later, the Goddess of Light´s cabin was resting peacefully upon the harmonious currents of light and shade. Marlina woke up, as she heard someone knocking on the door, urgently. She got up from her bed, and put on a small dressing gown, a lost gift upon Emerita´s memory, and decided to open the door for the outskirt mystery.
"Good morning, beauty of the sky!" exclaims the god of the air. “It is too early for you?
“Amsiret!” exclaims the excited woman. “No, it is not; c’mon in!”
"Actually, I was wondering if we could go outsides" says the man. “Perhaps, an improvised yet special breakfast, for I´ve a wonderful gift for you, my sweetie.”
“A special occasion, it seems” the woman exclaims. “Well, thank you really, you are a lovely soul. I'll get ready fast.”
“For what?” said the man, laughing. “You´re already ready! You´re beautiful, just like this.”
"Thank you" the woman exclaims, still blushing. “I guess, why not? After all, it's just you and me.”
The gods began walking towards a slowly journey, for the woman chose the long route. They were heading towards the center of the region, where Marlina and Amsiret remembered some simple spring bushes, where they could sit and talk. It was the perfect place to surprise her, with the mysterious gift.
They crossed through a beautiful meadow, full of pink flowers and dark roses; they were reaching the center of the island, and in the distance, a denoted magnitude shows itself ahead, which the goddess had not seen in her hundred years. A giant tree, sophisticated and rough; sparkling it´s truth throughout the gentle horizon.
It was easily the tallest tree of the entire island. It was a sudden riddle, to understand how it had appeared there. A purple energy with bright blue flashes surged from the tree; covering its giant shade upon a massive terrain. And a familiar face emerged at the top of its golden tropics. A tall, passionate reflection of certainty.
"Isn't that your brother?" asks Marlina
From the elevated heights of the tree, a single figure remains still, in one of the robust branches. Standing, eating a fruit. It was the god of the plasma voices.
“Welcome, my friends!” the god of plasma shouted, “Welcome, to the initiation of the new empire! You´re the blessed first-timers, to see the birth of the Legendary First Venerable Tree, the largest of this island, and therefore the most powerful of all this lands, until the end of times!
“What in the hundred heavens you´ve done?!” Amsiret exclaims. “Come here immediately!
"What a boring little brother" exclaims Arac. “However, since you insist, I will go down for my company to greet their brand new king!”
From the branch where he was placed, the god skillfully descended in between the rough skin of the trees; surfing the crust of the trunks. Darning with style, until he elegantly, reach the surface, where Amsiret and Marlina were standing.
"So all this time, what it was, is that you simply stole the seed " exclaims Amsiret, walking from one side to the other. “What a disgrace, sincerely.”
"Why are you stressing so much, my brother?" exclaims Arac. “Don´t you see the miraculous gift I´ve made for my beautiful Marlina? Whom, by the way, has such a pretty face today, that illuminates me like never before!”
“What do you yet can´t understand?!” Amsiret exclaims enraged. “That seed was not meant to be sown in these times!”
"What are you talking about, brother?" Arac says. “As always, you´re confused, and wrong! Just look up! It´s a preciousness that has never been seen in these lands. It even sprouted its first fruit! And believe me, it is delicious.”
“That fruit wasn´t supposed to be ingested!” exclaims Amsiret "This three needed to grow after the empire began! After the king has been chosen! And that fruit was to spring forth in the presence of the new kingdom, not now! You´ve eaten the fruit that was meant to be preserved! Because of you, this tree will not bear a single seed for a thousand years! If it ever wants to do it again!”
“And why bother to do so? This is the new kingdom!” responds Arac. “Come on brother, you are overreacting! Without offending my goddess, but not everything Elgoneth says should be taken completely seriously. Just watch has become this tree, now! It cannot be any more beautiful. With its shade, this empire has begun. With the roots of it, the goddess is already visualizing her future, and upon it, she already knows who´s the king of her heart, or perhaps, I am wrong, my beautiful?”
“You are a degenerate! A thief! An inept!” exclaims Amsiret.
The God of the Air was so angry a brief flurry of amber fires followed through his veins. Grayish currents and electrical powers began to circulate from his hands, and quickly, sent this lights towards Arac. The God of Plasma defended himself as best as he could, showing his violet shields; hurling triangular counter attacks at his brother.
At a distance, Marlina tried to cover herself from the sudden battle, behind a near stone, for the brothers went out of control. Suddenly, a purple blast with a pentagonal shape attacked Amsiret's right arm; a spell from the god of plasma´s hands. A small mirror then, flies out of Amsiret's teared out glove, falling from his sleeves. The god tried to pick it from the ground, but his brother continued to launch attacks on him; he was forced, to run and defend himself.
Amid the violent exchange of lethal lights, and bursts of power, Marlina was crawling closer to the mirror. And when she was about to hold it, a firelight exploded just between the mirror and her hand; arising the ground to the air.
Marlina regained consciousness under the midst of a gushing steam; she looked around, and the small mirror was next to her right hand. She holds it, above all her fears, and the mirror clung to her hand like a magnet; perfectly ingrained to the woman. And, involuntarily, the energy from the mirror´s light oscillated and crossed; it was her powers reflecting through the mirror. And as if it were an instinctive act, she rose on a nearby stone, and between the uncontrollable battlefield, she exclaimed
﴾ ITHILIĖM LUSTRO ﴿
A yellow light began to accumulate in her hand, born from the mirror. And what started as a small circular fire, began to magnified in excessive proportions. So big, it began to illuminate the whole place. And when the goddess of thunder finished saying the mystical words, she released the great fire from her hand; it grew so much, that its strength and power make the circle gnawed at the gravity around them, fiercely pushing everything in front of it. Pushing the brothers with their giant waves, towards the ends of the place. Leaving them lying, holding on to some rocks, while the ground staggered and the currents of light expelled them at all forces.
From the woman's hand, the lights continued to flow abruptly; controlling the gigantic ball of electricity. Her eyes had gone from honey tones, to deep dark gold, until the woman returned to herself, and closed her open hand into a dry fist.
Instantly, the fireball stopped growing, and quickly disintegrated through the air. The earth calmed its chilling tremors; the currents of electrical force stopped in an instant, causing the gods to fall quickly to the ground. One from the stone, the other from the tree.
The goddess of light, could not understand how so much power had birth from her hands. Once she found reason, she quickly ran to the distant brothers; looking for Amsiret first, for Arac was farther away.
“Amsiret! I´m so sorry! Are you okay ?!” exclaims the woman. “I didn't think this would happen! I had no choice!”
“It´s okay, Marlina," says the man. “You did what you had to do.”
“Where is your brother?” asks Marlina.
“I'm fine!” shouted a man, holding onto a fallen tree. "Damn it, woman! What a power!"
The woman then, after making sure the god of the airs was just fine, went to where Arac was. Among the rubble of the electrocuted, and disoriented place.
"Arac, listen to me" exclaims the woman. “I thank you for what you have done. It is a beautiful gesture, and it is indeed a wonderful tree.”
"You don't have to thank me, my goddess" answers the god. “This is a gift to you.”
"And I appreciate that really, thank you a lot" exclaims the woman. “But I really need you to leave me with your brother. We arrived here to spent some time together, because he also wants to give me something, and then, you interrupted us.”
“Are you serious?” Arac asks.
"We can see each other later" says the woman. “Just have a little patience, okay?”
"The truth is, that doesn't seem like the right thing to do" replies Arac. “But I will make an exception, just because you are asking me to do so.”
"Thank you" the woman answers.
"Don't take too long with that insect!" exclaims the God of Plasma. “By the way, you do realize this tree is indestructible, right? I don't know what in Egmeon´s name he will give you, but it will never be able to overcome the value of this tree!”
The woman turns her back quickly, and runs towards Amsiret. He was quite injured, so she lifted him by his shoulder, hang him to her, and they both started walking away from the damaged place
"Aren't we going to have breakfast?" asks the god of the air.
" You're hurt! What are you talking about?" says the woman. “No sir, I'm not going to let anything happen to you here. Let's go to the cabin.”
The gods returned, by the same path they used to reach the center of the land, and although Amsiret lost himself in the divinity of the smiles, offered by the woman several times, upon the meadow during his departure, the beauty was now found, in her seriousness, and her sense of concern; compassion and security, was what seducing now the God of Air. And upon the same wide and beautiful meadow, was where his soul ended up falling completely for her.
They arrived at the cabin, and Marlina quickly took out some healing potions, which she began to apply to the wounds of the warrior of the air.
"It will hurt a little" the woman exclaims. “But it's the only thing I have to cure this, the other yellow ones are deb–, why are you looking at me like that?!”
"Excuse me, it's your angelic face" says the man. “I´m sorry Marlina, but you are everything I always dreamed of.”
“Amsiret you are going to make me cry” said the woman. “Enough of me! You must think about yourself for a moment!”
“I am! I want you part of my life” says the man. “I don´t know, I think, you were incredible great out there?”
“Do you think?
“You did it better than I could´ve ever imagine, and believe me, I expected a lot from you” exclaims Amsiret.
"Thank you my love" the woman replies. “But what did you expect? I thought we would have breakfast and that was all.”
"You still don't wonder what your true gift was?"
“The gift!” says the woman. “Well I didn't see you had anything with you, I don't kn–but wait before we follow, that reminds me, I have to give you something that is yours.”
The woman takes the small mirror, out of one of her pockets in her faded and torn robe. She tries to hand it over to Amsiret, but he stops her.
"That is your gift, my queen" responds Amsiret. “It is the Mirror of Sattara, a memory that served me in my best days. It gave me strength and security as a mortal, before the great apocalypse, as you also might´ve heard of. It was from my mother, and on it, she found inspiration every day. Seeing herself, through her own reflection. She gave it to me, before she died. As it was for the tradition, to give it your most valuable objet, to the youngest son.”
“Amsiret, why are you so adorable to me?” says the woman. “I can't accept this, it's too much.”
"I want to give it to you, Marlina" says the man. “It was the first thing your brother gave me when he revived my spirit, when he lifted me up like a god. He turned it into an extremely powerful weapon, more than he had intended, as I´ve discovered that around this reflections, are the greatest powers of all this nature. There are seventeen spells, all reserved within her glass. But its bearer must discover them through her own instincts, her intuition, her love. Through the purity of her heart.”
"It has always belonged to a woman" says the man. “And since Elgoneth assigned me this task, I was absolutely sure that I wanted to give it to you. Not exactly in this way, however. Sometimes I think I don't deserve to have the opportunity to be tasked to love a woman so sweet, so charming, so beautiful, so wond–
The woman didn´t allow the man to continue, as she grabbed him and kissed him immediately. And the harmony of true gratitude arose instantly. The passionate kiss did not stop, and when they had least realized it, their love was being slowly consummated. Two flames burning in a single eternal light of loyalty, sincerity, love, and eternal progression. It was just what Marlina had expected for so many years. In fact, life had given her something better. Something that surpassed everything she had ever imagined, for she did not found just a king, she found a friend, she found a lover. And with his arrival, an unimaginable power from a sacred mirror. Marlina's heart screamed at her chosen one, as she clearly saw the future of his hand, but not before knowing pretty well, things with the God of Plasma weren’t finished yet.
