Too many problems

"Trevor," She moans my name repeatedly. Then her body freezes on top of me. "Trevor!" She shouts, "your... YOur..." I looked at her face. It has gone white. "You're on fire!" She whispers. I stood at inhuman speed flinging her on to the couch away from the flames. My body was covered in blue fire. I breathed, closed my eyes, let the air out from my nostrils. The blue flames vanished. "What was that?" I sighed, "You should go answer the door, Gigi is here" Her face scrunches as if she was going to say something. There was a knock at the door, furious fast knocking stopping her from speaking. She rushes to the door fixing her clothes as she goes, her hair wild and coming out of her hair tie. "Where is he?" I could hear her loud and clear. I went to the door behind Samantha. In seconds, I am on fire again. "Gigi!" Samantha shouts, taking her arm. The flames stop, "Get in here." She sighs. "I told you so." I muttered as I walked next to her. A hint of a smile came to my face. "It's not funny." She mutters back. I shrugged a shoulder. Her hand still on Gigi's arm, they sit on the couch. I move behind them and take the hair tie from her hair. She looked back at me with a scowl. I turned it back and started to pull her hair back out of her face and quickly tie it up. "Thank you." She said very quietly, her face flushed. I nodded, then sat on a chair smiling at Gigi who scowled. "Demon." She mutters, her arms folding in. "Yes, ma'am." I answered with a smile planted on my face, she hadn't changed much. "I'm glad your well." She scoffed, shifting in her spot, and yet I could swear I saw a smile appear. "Don't ma'am me. I'm still angry." She squares her shoulder, "Besides, you are so much older than me." I laughed, "So, should I call you by your name?" Her eyes widened, "What in the, you wouldn't dare? No, I am a grandmother now, Gigi is fine." "Will someone tell me what the problem is?" Samantha says, looking between the two of us. "Another time, for now, I have to go and, emphasis the wards, for tonight I'll see you at the party." I got up, as did she. "Okay, I'll see you at the party." She comes close and kisses me lightly, Gigi gasped. This time the flames hurt. I moved quickly away from Samantha before it could touch her. "That was dangerous," I stared blankly at Gigi, trying my best not to get angry at her. "Gigi, if you would like, I have no problem sitting down to talk to you about what happened." She doesn't speak so I continue, "Samantha has my number if you ever want it. I swear, Silva, I would never have done anything to hurt her. I was only trying to help." She laughed but it was humorless. I bow to her, she lifts her wrist as if she was shooing away a fly. I smile at her then Samantha and leave. Exiting the building, I cloaked myself from non-supernatural beings. I stroll to Mrs. Sanchez home, placing a stronger barrier, then headed back to my place. "What do I owe the pleasure, Grendel?" I sighed, tossing my keys to the bowl. Grendel gets off the couch with a groan, "Ugh, that is soft." His voice was deep with no emotion. "Then please sit." I motioned for him to sit back down, which he did, "So what is it this time?" "Tea, how have you forgotten how to be a good host already?" He gruffed, his old years and life showed in his tone. I smiled with a nod and stood to go to the kitchen to fix him a cup of tea. "So, they finally sent him." He says after taking the tea from my hands. I nod. "I know, I just seriously don't have time for this." He laughs, "Daniel, isn't something to take so lightly." I rolled my eyes, Daniel is just some angel who is a puppet with strings, and he could get rid of him with the snap of his finger. Right now, Trevor is trying to find a way to kill this monster that was once a demon. He must take care of him not only to save Samantha, but to rid both realms of this evil. He wasn't going to play the game the stupid big-headed angels want to play. "I know he isn't for many, but I'm not many or any. I am stronger than anyone they send after me. They are just crybabies." I roll my eyes and shift in my seat. "They have no business with us, yet they insist on being noise. They shouldn't worry about how things are running down there. We are getting to where we need to be. We just got over a civil war. What do they expect out of us, perfection?" "They want you to handle it, it's your job," he says in a statement. "And I have more pressing matters," I stated again. He grumbles irritably, "Many have tried to track him to no avail. He rests in the farthest parts of the spirit realm. He'll get bored soon. You have a responsibility to your realm. Mind you, not that human." He had made his voice clear. Sometimes he is just like ice. "This human," I emphasize the word, "Is the most powerful seer anyone has ever met, and he is after her." He lets out a dry laugh, "He's been after that bloodline for centuries," Before he continues, I intercept, "Even more reasons to keep her safe." I leave out the feeling I have for her or the fact that she is the only thing I care about. He might love and want the Underworld to become a better world for everyone that lives there, but I do not care that much I never have. "My point is," He gave a stern look, "they have been doing alright this entire time and if she really is as powerful as you say, she can defend herself." "She has more demon magic in her then anyone that she hasn't even tapped into yet." He holds up a hand and waves, "No, no, humans can't handle that much power. It will kill her." I leaned against my chair, "I beg a difference, she has frozen time." This gets his attention. "When have humans ever been able to do that?" There was a hint of curiosity in his voice. That's the first in a while. I thought. "The other day when he appeared before us at the mall, she had panic and froze up to three blocks in every direction." He nods, now forming some interest. "It was how I was able to fend him off, wounding him. She had made it harder for him to fade in and out of this reality, he became unable to fade back in this one, and I wounded him." "How long did it last?" "It was only fifteen minutes in this realm." "Was it the first time she did it?" I leaned back, "I'm not sure." He sighs. "If I can get her to harness enough power, get rid of the damn angels and anyone that would try to hurt her. If she could..." "To what? Learn Demon magic? You know what that'll do to her, right?" I didn't have anything to say. I knew what he said was true. A human with that much power can become a demon. I sighed. "She nor her family would ever agree to that." I could just not tell her, but I can't lie to her. I know how she'll react. I shake my head. "I can channel her power. I know there are some spells from the Lin family that might work, I just need to find the scroll." I mumbled to myself. I wanted to punch myself for being so selfish. He laughs dryly, "That could easily turn her as well.” I nodded, “Not if I do it right,” I answered. “You spend too much time with the seers. You practically think like them?" I smiled with a shrug. "Look, I have to take on one big problem at a time. I'll take care of Daniel after I talk to Samantha." "I have to get going, we'll need you in the Underworld by humans next Tuesday for the meeting with the angels. Don't be late." I give a humorless laugh, "I'll be there." He nods then stands, "You are too close to this human. Figure your mind out and get back to me. Boy, you are a new elder don't forget that." I followed the suite with a smile, "You have no idea." I love Samantha. She is strong, caring and tastes so sweet. "I'll take my leave. Have a good night." I led him to the portal room, "Good luck my friend." He pats my arm and then vanishes into smoke of purple. "One problem at a time." I muttered before getting into the shower.
