I don't know how long I stayed on the ground in my cell, but I knew it must have been at least a few days. My body ached all over as my thirst and hunger for food started to claw at my insides like I had been gutted. I hissed in pain, not wanting to shout out fearing that I would panic the others. I had only managed a few hours of sleep after Helfor left, but since then it had evaded me, the pain of my hunger too great to allow me to have any real rest.
"Is it bad?" Lexia asked, her voice trembling slightly. Although I had been taken after Lexia, due to my need for blood being higher because of its link to my magic and how drained I was when I had come here, I was much further along in my desiccation than she was.
