The Hybrid Prophecy

Chapter Ten

(Rickie’s point of view)

I spend all day trying to find some way to help get the mark off of Rose but there was nothing that could remove a mark of a mate. Maybe I have to look at older books, I went to the back of the of our library to see if there was a book there that could help her. I started looking through really old books to see if there was any way to get the mark off of her, after hours of looking I came was reading the second to last book left to read.

‘How to remove a mate’s mark’

‘You should really make sure that the person that has the mark wants it to be removed, it is a painful process and it is extremely dangerous and could end up killing the person. What you need to do is first you need to have a family member of the person that wants the mark removed to cut around the mark and let the blood from the cut fall into a silver bowl without touching the blood. Second you need someone that loves the person and feels like they should be their mate and wants to mark them to start to mark the person as the family member says the person’s name and rejecting that persons mate and saying their mate’s name while setting the blood on fire, this will set the mark on fire to burn it away and the person will be in a lot of pain from this. You have to make sure that the person has someone who loves them as a mate should because if that love is not there the person having the mark removed will die and there will be no way to save them.

I could not believe what I was reading, how would we do this? There is no one that loves Rose as a mate that I know of, I love her but I love her like I would love a sister not as a mate. I put the book down and picked up the last book, it was smaller and thinner than the other books. It looked like no one had touched this book in a long time, I picked the book up and looked at it. The name of the book was The Hybrid Prophecy, maybe this book will have some answers I mean I have never heard of a hybrid before but it would not hurt to have a look. I started to read the book but there were no answers to how to remove a mark but there is information about the moon goddess making vampire and werewolves. I was quick reading the book but something caught my eye,

‘The hybrid prophecy will come true when two enemy’s change to lovers,

One will lose a parent to the enemy while the other is stolen from their parents,

One will be locked away from the outside and will live a life of isolation,

The other will be abused and not know of their lineage,

When they become one they will become more powerful together than anything,

They will be a vampire and a werewolf, both royal and will unite everyone and

Bring peace to the world but before they will have to go against a

Love one and the true enemy that seek to destroy them,

The happiness of the whole world will depend on them.

I kept rereading this chapter, I could not help but feel like it could be about Rose and I needed to decide whether I should tell the Queen about this or not. There was one line that made me not want to tell her ‘they will have to go against a love one’ what if that meant Rose’s mother? I will tell her about what I had found and see how she reacts, if she does not want to hurt her daughter then I know that I can tell her if not then I have to find away to get Rose out of here and to safety. I picked up both of the books and went to find the Queen and let her know what I have found, I found the Queen in Rose’s room looking at her daughter with so much love, how could I think that she would do anything to hurt her daughter?

“Your majesty I found something that may remove the mark from your daughter, you being a family member will need to cut around her mark and let the blood fall into a silver bowl and have someone who loves her like a mate bite her as you set her blood on fire. While the blood is on fire you will say the rejection using your daughters name and her mates name but Rose will be in a lot of pain because the blood inside her body will be on fire too and cause her a lot of pain that it why she needs someone who loves her as a mate. They will help her with the pain but if they do not love her like a mate it will not work and she will die.” I finish telling her, hoping that she will understand what I have said and take her time to think about what is the right thing to do. The Queen looked like she was taking her time to think about what I said,

“you love my daughter right Rickie?” she asked me and I could not believe what I was hearing.

“Yes your majesty I do love your daughter but I love her like a sister, I do not love her like a mate” I tell her hoping she will understand what I am saying.

“You can do it anyway, I will get the bowl and knife” she says and starts to walk out of the room. I run after her to stop her,

“your majesty I cannot do it, it says you have to love the person as a mate and I do not love her as a mate.” I tell her but she does not look happy about what I said.

“It does not matter as your Queen you will listen to me and bite my daughter and help me remove that mutts mark from her” the Queen ordered me, usually when the Queen orders me to do something I feel the need to do what she wants me to do but for some reason that feeling was not coming.

“But if I do this I will end up killing her and I cannot do that, I am her personal guard I am meant to protect her not be the one that hurts her the most” I say shocking the Queen.

“You must obey my order and mark my daughter when I tell you as I am doing the ritual, I do not care if she dies from this she is an embarrassment to me right now being mated to a mutt and having a mutt herself. I am going to get the objects that we need and we will start do you understand me?” She hisses at me as she walks away from me and I feel the need to obey her but it is not as strong as I thought it would be.

I could not do anything other than stand there looking at Rose, I could not believe what her mother was willing to do to get rid of the mark of her mate. I did not understand how she could be willing for her own daughter to die so that she will not stay mated to her true mate, in that moment I knew what I had to do. I had to save Rose and get her out of here and back to her mate, I will play along with the Queen until the right moment I can get her out of here. I waited for the Queen to come back hoping that she would come back alone, it would make it easier to get Rose out of here. Five minutes later the Queen walked in with the knife and bowl. Luck was on my side and she did not come into a guard it would make it easier for me to get Rose out,

“are you ready Rickie?” the Queen asked me and I made sure that I sounded believable,

“yes my Queen I am happy to be mated to your daughter” I say while bowing at her. The Queen placed the bowl on the night stand next to Rose’s bed. Rose still had not woken up but when the Queen started to cut around her mark Rose eyes shot open and she started to scream and thrashed around trying to get the pain to stop.

“Hold her down” the Queen shouted as she keep cutting around the mark, I did as I was told and held Rose down. I just hope she will understand that I was helping her when I can explain it to her once I get her out of here. The Queen stopped cutting and stood up straight with the bowl and looked at me,

“now come here and mark my daughter” she orders. I quickly walk over to the other side of Rose and made it look like I was about to mark her, I looked to make sure that the Queen had left the bowl with the blood on the stand while she looked for some matches to light the blood. Once the Queen had turn her back to both myself and Rose I grabbed hold of Rose and the blood and ran as fast as I could.

“Stop him” I heard the Queen shout but I did not slow that made me move faster, I saw guards waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs making that way a no go. I took a quick look around and saw there was an open window. It looks like I have to jump out of the window, I ran and throw myself and Rose throw the window. Once I had landed on my feet on the ground I took off as fast as my feet would carry me, I got lucky that no guards were near the gates. As I rounded the corner to get out the gate I saw twenty wolves growling at me, one wolf in front of the others and when he turned back into his human form.

“What have to do to my mate?” He growls at me,

“I did not do anything to her, I saved her and right now we have to run before they catch us. I will explain what happened to her when we are safe is there anywhere we could go that she would be safe?” I ask hoping that he would help us, I mean he is her mate after all.

“Yes we do, give me my mate and follow us to the pack house” he says holding out his hand hoping to take her from me. I did not want to but I knew him being her mate that his wolf go crazy if an unmated male was holding him mate. I handed Rose over to him and started to follow them to the pack house and it was just in time because the Queen had come out with the guards as we was far enough away that they could not catch us before we crossed into the wolf territory, I hope I have made the right choice, only time will tell.
