The Hybrid Prophecy

Chapter Fifteen

(Ruby’s point of view, 22 years ago)

   “Come on mum we are going to be late” I say while bouncing from foot to foot, I could not wait to see the new King and Queen get married.

   “Hold your horses Ruby we will only see them when they are out of the church you know” my father says to me, I stick out my tongue to him making him smile at me. Not many wolves get wolves were invited to be in the church, most wolves were going to wait outside to see them and the kingdom was throwing a big party for the whole kingdom to celebrate the princess finding her mate and getting married. After what felt like a lifetime my mother came downstairs dressed in a dark purple full-length dress, my father walked over to my mother and I blushed at the way he would look at her. There was so much love in their eyes for each other, I just hope that I find my mate soon and he loves me the way my father and mother love each other.

   “Ok lets go see our future King and Queen get married and crowned” my father announced but before he could move I ran for the door and ran out, too excited to wait for my father, I could hear them laughing at me but I did not care today I was going to see the King and Queen. Once we got near the church I moved as fast as I could between the people that had gathered to catch a glimpse of the royal couple. I pushed thought all the people to get to the front of the of the crowd, I could hear people groaning and muttering but I did not care, I had to see them. When I finally made it to the front I kept jumping up and down so much, there was no way I was going to stop. I felt some hands rest on my shoulders, I started to growl. I was going to brake the person’s arm who dared to touch me,

   “come down my baby, it’s just your father” my father whispered in my ear. I could not stop blushing from growling at my father, I was about to turn and apologise to my father but I started to hear people shouting and I knew that meant the King and his daughter where coming. I leaned as far forward as I could to see them, I wanted to see what she was wearing and what the carriage. The first thing I saw were complete white horses, they had no colour but the gold that was on the reins. It looked so beautiful, the carriage was next and it took my breath away when I saw it. It was covered in white, green and gold, it almost made it hard to look at. The sun was shining off of the carriage so much that made it look like it was on fire, beautiful fire of multi-colours, it is amazing. As the carriage got closer I saw the princess, I put my hand up as high as I could and started to wave as fast as I could. The princess looked over to me and smiled and waved back, I could not believe it, a member of the royal family noticed me and waved. I did not take my eyes off of the princess and the King until the doors had closed.

   “Come on lets go eat something to eat, your mother made a pack lunch with your favourite cupcakes” my father said with a smile on his face,

   “red velvet and blueberry’s on top?” I asked him and my father just nodded his head, I ran as fast as I could. I saw my mother setting everything up on a picnic table, I ran even faster I could not wait to put one of those cakes into my mouth. My mother is the best baker in our pack but I think she is the best baker in the whole world.

   “So I guess your father told you that I made your favourite cupcakes” my mother said while laughing, I looked through the containers trying to find them.

   “YES” I shouted when I found them, I ripped open the lid and grabbed one, they felt warm within my hand. I was just about to put the cupcake into my mouth when I smelled something that smelt ten times better than the cupcake.

   “Mum do you smell that?” I ask but my mother looked confused,

   “smell what? I do not smell anything” my mother said and I could not understand how my mother could not smell this, it smelled like Blueberry’s and fire. I put down the cupcake and started to walk around to see if I could find what was giving off this smell. After ten minutes of wondering around I came closer to a group of male wolves, the smell was a lot stronger over here. As I got closer Rana my wolf was starting to jump around in my head with excitement,

   ‘Rana what wrong with you?’ I ask her through mind link but she does not respond to me straight away, as was just a couple of steps away from the guys and one of the guys looked up at me. When his eyes locked in at my eyes I felt my whole world stop, Rana was howling so loud in my head only shouting one word.

   ‘MATE, MATE, MATE’ Rana shouted in my head, I could not believe it, I finally found my mate after all this time. The man stood up and walked around towards me,

   “follow me” he says in a deep voice that made me weak at the knees, I followed him as he lead me away from the group of males. I could not wait to spend the rest of my life with my mate and be in love with him as much as my parents are.

   “I guess you can feel it too” he says in a tone that tells me that he was not as happy as I was to find his mate,

   “yes I do, I am so happy to finally find my mate. I have waited a whole year to find my mate” I say in excitement and a smile on my face. The male wolf just looks at me not returning my smile, I started to get a bad feeling from him, maybe he was going to reject me. I have heard some wolves reject their mate for someone else, I hope that is not what my mate is about to do to me.

   “I think we should keep it quiet for a while about us being mates” he whispers to me, I could not understand why he would want to keep us being mates a secret,

   “why do you want to keep it a secret? Are you ashamed of me?” I ask while trying to hold back tears,

   “no sweetheart it’s just you deserve the whole day about you when people find out we are mates” he says to me so sweetly. I could not believe how nice my mate is, trying to think about me,

   “please tell me your name and the name of the pack and I will come in a couple of days and we will let your parents and pack know that we are mates.” He says to me and I could not wait for everyone to know I have a mate,

   “I am Ruby and I come from the Moon lake pack, could you tell me your name and pack?” I ask eager to know how my mate is and where he comes from.

   “I won’t tell you what pack I come from because I will be moving to yours but I will tell you my name, it’s Henry” Henry tells me. I could not believe what I have just heard, my mate is willing to move to my pack in a couple of days.

   “Could I at less tell my parents and the Alpha of my pack? They would need to know that you are moving in and the Alpha needs to know a new wolf is joining his pack” I ask hoping he does not get angry with me, Henry sighed heavily at me. He did not seem like he the idea,

   “only tell your mother, father and your Alpha, do not tell anyone else” he warns me. I was so happy that he was letting me tell my parents,

   “I promise I will only tell them and they will not tell anyone else” I say while jumping up and down. Henry just smiled at me, I reached out and pulled him into a hug, at first he did not hug me back but after a while he put one arm around me and half hugged me. I did not care if people were looking at me,

   “ok off you go, I will see you in a couple of days” he says while pushing me away. I felt said that he so quickly let go of me, I went to say goodbye but he had already walked away. Maybe he wanted to get anything sorted everything at his pack, I ran back to my mother and father so happy to tell them who I had just found. I saw my mother and father eating and talking lightly about something, I ran as fast as I could.

   “Mum, mum you will never guess what just happened to me” I shout with excitement but then I quickly closed my mouth realizing that other wolves could hear me.

   “What happened dear?” My mother asks me with a smile on her face, I knew my family was going to be happy for me.

   “I found my mate” I whisper loud enough only for my parents can hear me,

   “oh Goddess you found your ma…” my mother started

   “STOP MUM” I shouted before my mother could finish the sentence, my mother and father looked at me with confused looks on their faces.

   “he wants to keep it a secret until he moves to our pack in a couple of days, dad could you mind link the Alpha and let him know he will be joining our pack and not to let people now?” I say to my father, he does not reply to me, I look at his eyes and I see that they are unfocused and I know that he is mind linking the Alpha of our pack.

   “The Alpha said he is ok with keeping it a secret and that he is happy for you” my father said to me and I tried to contain my excitement. I thought that this day could not get any better I go and find my mate and in a couple of days he will be moving in with me. I started to think of a way I could welcome him and back it feel like home, I could set you a room for him. I started to think about what my mate would like and I started coming up with ideas, I could not wait to get started.
