Chapter 4
*Jasmine’s POV*
When I wake, I stretch and enjoy the comfort of Sean’s bed. It has been many years since I slept in a comfortable bed, and the beds at the omega house are stretches and old blankets sewen together for comfort, but it is still like sleeping on the floor. You get used to it over time.
I reach over and notice Sean isn't in bed, but I don't worry about it. He probably has packed business to attend to as he is an alpha in training. I should ask about Luna's apprenticeship as I haven't had any training. I remember how my mother was. She was a strong luna but kind and fair, and she kept my father grounded, so I guess I could go with how she ruled beside my father until the rogue attack that took her life.
I shake the terrible memories from my mind, sit up on the bed, wipe the sleep from my eyes then walk to the bathroom. I look in the mirror and notice my eyes are brighter, and the purple in my hair seems more vibrant.
I put my hair up in a messy bun then, washed my face, brushed my teeth then figured out what I was going to wear as I didn't pack much from all the rush and panic last night.
So I begin going through my bag to find something suitable, and I see a pair of leggings and a shoulder T-shirt
So I get dressed and then go through the other items in my bag. When I find my mum’s jewellery box, I begin to go through her things and remember how she looked wearing them. I pick up the amethyst necklace she used to model and look at it. I have always been fascinated by this necklace my mother wore all the time. I remember it used to shine brightly when the sun hit it in the right place. I always thought it was magical, but as I got older realised it was the person wearing it who used to shine bright. I close my eyes and hold the necklace close to my chest. Then place it back into the box.
I hear the bedroom door open, so I look up to see Sean walking toward me. He sits on the floor beside me and places his hand on my leg.
“Are you okay?” he asks me, and I smile.
“Yeah, I am. I was looking at my mum's Necklace and remembering how beautiful she looked when she wore it”
I get the necklace out of the box and place it in Sean’s hand, and he looks down at it and then back at me “it is wonderful, Jas; why don't you wear it?” he asks, and I sigh.
“Because if my father sees me wearing it, he will give me a beating.”
I take the necklace from Sean’s hand, place it back in the box, and close it. Sean leans in and kisses my cheek.
“Wear it at the Alpha and luna ceremony.” I looked over at him, then nodded “that would seem fitting to wear my mother's pendant when I become a luna, but I worry I won't be very good at it since I haven't had much training.”
Sean puts his arm around me and pulls me close “my mother comes home today, and she would love to meet you and guide you through the ceremony and help you be a great luna,” he says, reassuring me, then moves so he can see me
“I have to ask you about Steph”, he says as he takes my hand.
I smile. “I don't know what I could tell you. I was in the omega house when Steph came. I comforted her and became like a big sister to her. Somebody told me she came from a family sent to help my father from another pack, and her parents were killed in a rogue attack. But I don't remember our Pack being attacked that day.
Sean looks at me and then nods.
“I believe Her parents are still alive and well,” he says as he begins to stand up and helps me to my feet. Sean takes the box from my hands and places it in the cupboard behind some other items to keep it safe.
“What makes you think they are alive?” I ask as we walk out of the bedroom, and sean grins.
Because I think they are here, I have arranged a meeting for Steph and her potential parents to determine if she is their missing child. “
I stop and then look up at Sean. That would be great news, but if she is, you must keep your promise to keep her up here with us. “
Sean smiles and nods. “I won't separate you, but her parents live in a house on our lands. Her mother is my mother's best friend, so she will always be treated. Well”
Sean looks down at my feet and chuckles, then picks me up and takes me back to the room. “why are we going back” I ask, confused. Sean places me on the bed “it seems you forgot to put shoes on, and since we are going to breakfast with my parents, then on a quick tour of the land, you will need shoes. I have sent some staff to buy you and Steph's clothes. I hope you don't mind.”
I look down at my feet then, chuckle then, quickly put on some socks and shoes on then look up at Sean. “it is probably for the best I don't go out shopping for a while; I want to stay hidden until the luna and Alpha ceremony” Sean leans in and kisses me then pulls back and sighs “I am sorry Jas when I am around you I find it hard to control myself.” I put my arms around his neck, gently tugged him down and kissed him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and deepened the kiss, and I felt our mate bond buzzing between us. The kiss felt like fireworks had been let off, and I wanted more, but Sean pulled back and rested his forehead on mine. “wow”, he said, and I chuckled, then I moved my head around and looked into his eyes “we should go I don't want to keep your parents waiting.” I say, and Sean nods. Then we make our way downstairs for breakfast.
When we get to the dining room, I see Steph sitting next to Kade and notice she looks relaxed and well-rested; then, I look over at Sean’s parents and bow my head in respect. “Good morning”, I say as Sean shows me my seat. I don't get a chance to sit down as Sean’s mother embraces me and holds me tight “you look just like your mother, Jasmine” I look at her and smile “thank you, I say when she lets me go, and I notice Sean has his mother’s eyes. And it is beautiful. We take our seats and wait for our breakfast to be served. Sean’s mother covers my hand with hers. “I want to spend time with you, Jasmine; we have much to talk about before you and Sean take over as Alpha and Luna.” I feel the excitement growing, and I nod. “I would love that and appreciate all the guidance you can give me.”
We make some small talk, and when I hear the doors to the dining room open, I look up and see an older couple walking in to join us. I look at Steph, who is cautiously looking at them, and then she gets out of her seat and runs over to the couple. “I thought you had died”, she says as she runs into their arms. I stand behind Steph, watching her begin to sob in her mother's arms.
The man comes up to me, takes my hands into his, and smiles, “thank you, Jasmine, for keeping our daughter safe and taking her with you when you left last night. We will never be able to repay you. He lets go of my hands and opens his arms to offer me a hug, and I accept. I let him hug me, then looked over at Sean “make sure you look after her, young man. You don't realise how special she is. Her mother saved us before Vincent dragged her and our daughter away from us that night,” I look up at him. “Rogues killed my mother before that Night. I don't understand. Then the man shakes his head. No, your mother was locked in the dungeons and helped us escape that night. Your father caught up to us and took Stephanie from us, then took your mother back. She was trying to protect you, Jasmine, and save those who came to help. It is so much you don't know as you were a child, but we have to take Hamish and Vincent down. They are not the rightful Alphas of that pack. Vincent killed your father when you were a baby and made your mother take him as her Alpha, but he is not your father. Hamish is not your brother. Don't you find it odd that Hamas's wolf wasn't like your wolf” I look into this man's eyes to try and find a lie, but something tells me he is telling the truth? Could my mother still be alive? I tilt my head and look around the room confused “then what happened to my twin brother?”
The man smiles and then steps aside, and I see a man standing behind him; his eyes are grey like mine. I walk toward him, knowing that this man is my twin brother. He holds his arms open for a hug, and I wrap my arms around him. “I thought you were dead.” he smiles at me. “I'm here, Jas,” he kisses my cheek and whispers into my ear “, we won't be separated again,” we walk to the table.
Then, please take a seat, then watch as Steph sits with her parents and we begin to eat breakfast, and I feel a wave of anger pass through me. Could my mother still be alive?
*Sean’s POV*
I think about what Renold has said, and then I look at the confusion on Jasmine’s face. I look at my father, who looks up at me. He Nods at me, meaning when breakfast is over, we will have a meeting as we may have stumbled on to something bigger than we anticipated, and if what Renold has said is true, then we have to go and find Jasmine’s mother.
I place my hand over Jasmine’s to calm her down, and we eat breakfast. Then my mother takes Jasmine on the tour of the pack lands, and I go into my father's office with Renold and we find out where precisely the dungeons are and make a plan to go in undetected to find out if Jasmine’s mother is alive and what we will do to take Vincent down.
My father clears his throat. “it makes sense to keep Jasmine hidden and alive as Vincent did. He was using her against Victoria to stay in line.”
I think about it, and it all makes sense. Alpha needs a luna to be strong, and if we lose our Luna’s, our wolves take over. But if Vincent weren't the rightful Alpha, how would he keep his wolf in control? Something isn't adding up when my dad looks at me.
“Victoria was a Lycian as your mother is. They don't always get true mates. They get chosen mates so she could have had a secret Alpha ceremony, and that's how Vincent has kept his wolf under control, but he kept Victoria hidden, presumed dead.”
I look at my father; then we need to contact the Lycians, and they can help us get Victoria back. Since Jasmine is a Lycian, they have to help her.”
I stand up and begin to pace, wondering what else we can do. Then I look over at my father and notice he also has the blue feature as I do, then looks over at Renold, who looks human as most wolves do when they are not in wolf form.
And my dad grins when it dawns on me I am not a wolf; I am a Lycian. That explains why my wolf is more significant than most wolves and why Jasmine's wolf was also.
My dad stands up, walks over to me and places his hand on my shoulder. “that's right, son. We are also Lycian, as was Jasmine’s father. We were sent here to help bring wolves and Lycians together before you were born, and I think you are right. We have to invite the king and queen to help get Victoria back.
He gets a necklace out of his drawer, which looks similar to Jasmine’s. I walk up to him and take it into my hand, then look up at my dad. “Jasmine has a necklace like this, but instead of a Sapphire stone, ’s is Amethyst.” My dad grins and nods. It is a crest stone we are from a royal line of Lycians, and since you are destined mates, your colours will come out in brandings on your skin after you seal the bond. “
I smile, then get back to planning how to get Jasmine’s mother back with us.
