Waiting for Her Mate

Chapter 6

I woke up to the sun streaming in through the windows, I had difficulties sleeping last night with all the thoughts that occupied my mind. I let out a heavy sigh as I got down from bed making my way to the bathroom, I brushed my teeth, did my business and took a nice warm shower. I towel dried myself walking into my closet wearing the clothes I had left out for today, it was a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Once I was done, I went to the kitchen to cook us breakfast, I made scrambled eggs, bacon and some chicken sandwiches, I also squeezed out some fresh orange juice mom came out just as finished setting up food in the small table we had in our suite. We had our breakfast in silence, after silence we went down to the living room of the packhouse where the Alpha and Luna were waiting for us, we said our goodbyes giving each other a hug as one of the warrior's helped us with our luggage, Victor and Seth both hugged me goodbye wishing me luck, we shed a few tears because we were really close to each other, they have always treated me like their sister and looked after me, it was difficult to leave them so that I can have a fresh start. Once we were sure that our luggage was loaded, we got inside mom's truck and started our journey to our new pack. I knew Dad wouldn't come to meet me because after completing the rejection process both of them seemed to be avoiding each other and if he had come to see us go the twins would have asked him where is going and he wouldn't lie to them, he wanted to me speak to them once we were done moving so that they can't force me to change my decision. Although he wanted nothing more than making me change my mind but he knew that I would have to do this for mom and for my own peace of mind because I would never be able to live with myself seeing mom in so much pain.

Amidst all this I was actually a little excited to see the Silver Moon pack. I have heard a lot about it but have never been lucky enough to see the pack before today, I remember dad once said that you will see the pack once you become the Beta because you will have duties to serve both the packs and here I am leaving my responsibilities towards my packs as their Beta and moving to our other pack because I thought taking care of mom is more important than becoming the Beta of our packs. I didn't meet Damien while I left from the pack, he wasn't there to see us off, to be honest, I felt a little bad because he is the next inline Alpha and I was the future Beta of the pack before today, he could have come to say goodbye to us as the future leader of the pack but he didn't. I pushed the thought away and the journey to our new pack was spent in silence and slowly I drifted off to sleep during the car ride to our new packhouse.

I didn't even realise that I slept through almost the entire ride to our new pack, I was woken from my slumber when mom was speaking to the driver. I rubbed sleep off my eyes as a yawn escaped my lips, I looked out the window and with the forest surrounding us I could say that we have almost reached our destination. Mom was asking questions to driver about something and tuned the conversation out as I looked at the passing trees, the forest was deep and had thick trees giving a lot to the wild life staying in it. I heard the sound of the birds chirping and few more sounds of the animals that reside in the forest but what mom said next pulled out of my thoughts snapping my attention to her, she was asking the driver to take us to someone's house instead of the packhouse.

"Mom, you don't have to worry everything is arranged in the new packhouse, I had spoke with the Alpha and they have assigned us a suite at the top floor where the leaders of the pack reside because I have taken up the job to train the newly shifted wolves" I said assuring her but she shook her head

"We will not stay at the packhouse, you know I am not comfortable with people surrounding me all the time, one of my oldest friend Robert stay in this pack. We were classmates and have known each other since we were kids, I spoke to him and he invited to with him in his house because he doesn't have a family. The best part is his house is bigger than your father's villa and way more comfortable than the suite you are getting in the packhouse" she said looking at me with a blank face

"Mom, at least the suite would be ours, we will own it and I promise we will also have a house of our own one day, I will get you the house you like and desire but we don't have to things from others. Especially if those things aren't ours, I will earn enough money for the both of us and will still be able to save from it please let's just go back to packhouse it's just a matter of few days" I said trying to convince her

"We are not arguing over this Saige, I said we are staying with Robert and that is final" she said firmly, I tried to protest again but she raised her hand to stop me there saying that nothing I say can change her mind, I don't like this and Snow has been restless the entire time but she wouldn't tell me anything at all

It took us another thirty minutes to reach our final destination, I was trying to think of something to say that could change mom's mind but came out empty. We got out of the truck to see a luxurious house standing proud in front of us, the house was nice but nothing about the house was homely, instead it looked like one of those beautiful mansions from the horror movies. I sighed as I knew I can't do anything about it especially till mom is adamant about not going back to packhouse. I took my phone sending a quick message to dad and the Alpha letting them know that we have reached the Silver Moon pack and that there is a change in plan that instead of the packhouse we are staying at Robert's house who happens to be mom's childhood friend. Dad's response was instant asking me to stay alert and not let my guard down and before I could respond back to him I saw someone walking up to us.

I lifted my face from my phone to look at the figure approaching us, he was about maybe 6' tall, his face was expressionless but he had a cold smile on his face. His eyes were dark that showed his arrogance, by looking at his face you can immediately guess that this person is evil because his eyes reflect his evilness and ruthlessness. I immediately knew that it was not right to stay here but I still can't do anything because I will have to do what mom says, I now know what dad meant when he asked to stay on guard all the times. He gave an evil smirk as he looked at me up and down as if I were a piece of meat, I felt a shiver of disgust run through my spine. He walked up to us and I walked behind mom, they hugged each other saying how long it has been since they last met each other. He said we are welcome to stay in his house as long as we wanted but I prayed internally that the stay here long, I just hope that I would be able to convince mom soon to move back to the packhouse.

We walked inside the house and it was beautiful from the inside as well but the feeling of being in a horror movie still lingered, mom did a small introduction telling him about me and I greeting him awkwardly being at a safe distance and he gave me one his smirks that disgust me to the core. He said he has arranged our rooms at the ground floor and that he stayed at the first floor, he gave us short tour of the ground floor showing us the common bathroom, kitchen, living room, theatre room and our bedrooms. Our rooms as were just as big as the one I had back home at dad's house. I miss him and the twins a lot, we had a nice big villa and it has this homely feel to it nothing like this house and who the hell has such a big mansion to stay for a single person, he has to be mad or just wanted to show his money off to people. I excused myself from mom and her friend going in to my room ensuring to lock the door, a girl can be careful now can't she? I walked in to the bathroom took a nice warm shower pulling a pair of my pyjamas, after the shower I walked out and unpacked my stuff making sure everything is where it is supposed to be. Once I was sure everything was done to my liking, I lyed down on bed feeling tired from the today's journey slowly drifting off to sleep.
