CHAPTER III: TEMPER OF GODS (1)
'The southern kingdom, my dear brother, is like a herd of a new race. Like the splendid laurels of a new season. This is how my children lie, like the heroes of this generation. Our crystals give, as you know, the most important weapons power on the island. These crystals began to provide a different interest, as we began to discover that when they come into contact with the liquid, their moldable functions are unlimited. But these need to be brought to the coasts, where the closest low waters are, and the low waters, those where the peoples of the humans given by creation lie. Furthermore, these must be polished and worked hard; with dedication and effort, to arrive at the most usable forms of our columns, our structures, and our palace.
This is where our interest in humans is born. This is where our interest in reaching the little Kingdom of Devlen was born. This is where we tried to make an alliance, some years ago. What's more, we managed to get it, because King Pipe and I managed to reach an agreement, after dozens of conflicts. We agreed to create a council; one tip, but both realms. Six representatives for Denle, and six representatives for Aravir. And there, the logistics and the movement and distribution of the crystals for their distribution were carried out. Most of it fell to us, but much of its weaponry and a small portion fell to the kingdom of Devlen. And that's how we worked, for a couple of years.
Everything began to get distorted, when the death of one of the councilors of the council came from Devlen. From that moment, we began to have conflicts, the deals were not my liking, and although I must say that I yelled at one more than another incompetent, I do not regret having done it.
"But my lord, only by increasing your profits can we increase ours" exclaims one of them.
"What the hell are you talking about Yahir ?!" I replied. "We had an agreement, and that agreement must stand!"
"Yes sir, but those are the new rules they are asking for" exclaimed Yahir. “If we don't accept them, their production level will decrease. They will not want to continue working. "
"Then don't do it!" I exclaimed. "Are you forgetting who I am? Go to that damn council and remind them that I am the king of these lands! Take it, or leave it! I don't need any of those rats to follow my empire!
They followed the treaty. Obvious reasons, because power always lay in my hands and my might. Production continued in the same way, and the weaponry continued at the same pace. But something gave me a bad feeling. So much silence consumed my mind, because I really thought that they were going to close the great alliance; give it over to be finished and eradicated, as I pretended it should have been, after what I had gone to say with my messenger. ´
"Don't you think it was just a financial decision?" interrupts the story Amsiret. “They are mortal Arac, they would do anything for the material. It is what they believe is best for their people, given their limited condition. Why the hell did you think they would leave the alliance? "
"I don't know," exclaims Arac. "It's what I would have done."
However, the men continued to produce and create the wealth of weapons for both peoples. They simply asked me to assert their defense, and I said yes. I mean, who the hell is going to attack us anyway? Yelvira? Elgoneth? Your? Let's be serious friends. Those times are behind us; as boring as it sounded, so I just accepted it.
And boy was it the stupidest decision I could have made. In subsequent cycles, Delen's kingdom split in two, and a civil war broke out between Protestants and the citadel of mortals. What fools, what kind of kingdom attacks itself? Send Iram, and a couple of soldiers from the south. The situation got a bit complicated, forcing me to have to go to their boring meadows. And as you know, I started laying waste to all those naive and boring soldiers. You devastated the Protestants, and we restored order to Devlen. But when my brother came back, I'm sure this is where the betrayal began. The chamber appeared to be open, but we were not careful, they did not appear to have stolen anything. But what was frightening was not what had not been stolen, but how they had reached the main chambers. And the truth was that I did not remember if I had done it, or if any of my children had sought one of the emerald crystals for their weapons. It was uncertain, and we couldn't verify anything, but I'm sure it all started there.
Fifteen days passed, and the chambers began to slowly empty. My anger and fury was overflowing, when they began to tell me that the smaller cameras were being looted. I put guards in all the chambers. I put soldiers in all the cabins. I started staying up late to find that thief, and nor I found it, the more my wealth diminished in proportion. They were playing with my mind, and with my patience, and I couldn't take it anymore.
We assigned a secret group to study this case. This hidden decree of the kingdom, they inquired to all the citizens of the palace; subtly, they investigate the guardians, and their daily activities, and all the soldiers in the army. There was a corruption in my own empire, and I did not intend to sleep without having annihilated the vermin who were robbing me of myself!
The irritation began to enter my veins as if this was a joke. Days passed and my kingdom continued to be insulted, to such an extent that it descended to almost all the guards of my empire; before realizing through Iram, that the chambers were probably being opened in their underground forms. Something that seemed irreverent to me, but one of the insatiable nights we began to check the cameras, and they were in fact, in the uncertainty of some corridors with strange and rumbling scratches. Someone was opening secret panels and chambers, and that someone was going to pay dearly for it.
