It was good to get back into a routine. This time of year is always hectic, with the Christmas lights, dance, Christmas day, the last rodeo of the year, awards, and New Year's Eve.
This year includes Candy's funeral between Christmas and the rodeo, and my wife will be flying out after the rodeo, so we will not get to spend our first New Year together. I will spend it here with Grandpa and Grandma; they are planning another little party. Grandpa loves having everyone around him and organizes more parties than anyone I know.
We talked about it last night. She will go and do what she needs to do, and I will stay here, work the ranch, and wait for her return. I have mixed feelings about this.
