It had been a stressful week. Dealing with bureaucracy and all that insurance crap had been a pain in the ass, but it seemed like it was finally settled and all that was left to do now was wait to get her money back and find herself another car.

He picked up after a couple rings.

Jo dropped her at his place and promptly left to meet Saul and the others at a bar nearby. She climbed the stairs hurriedly and knocked at his door, impatient to see him, music and laughter resonating from inside. He opened it while seemingly finishing to tell a story to someone inside and smiling broadly.

He pulled her by the wrist and ushered her inside, where she found five people comfortably perched on the couches in the living room, they were all chatting and drinking beer.

-Guys, this is my girlfriend Ally- Gus said, his arm holding her near - Ally, these are David, Albert, Tina, Patrick and Lauren- He stated directing his gaze to each of them.

-Hi- Ally smiled timidly as they all waved her hello.

She took a seat by Gus´s side and accepted the beer he offered her taking a small sip and feeling suddenly very uncomfortable. She scanned all the faces in this new crowd of people and she found most of them pretty normal and easy going. David and Albert seemed like the typical engineering manly type, while Tina had a more serious vibe, even formal. Ally figured she was a really professional woman. Patrick on the other side gave her the geeky aura.

But Lauren… Oh god Lauren! She was f*****g stunning. Long legs, blonde waist length hair, full lips and perfect skin. She looked like a goddamn model.

“f**k!”- she thought to herself- “And she gets to be around him eight hours a day…five days a week”

Lauren kept staring straight at her with an amused smile on her lips, her eyes piercing her, making her feel naked. The room started shrinking around her, she was feeling suddenly very self-conscious and her palms started getting sweaty.

She couldn´t hold her gaze any longer and she averted her eyes defeated. Lauren´s smile widened in victory and then turned her eyes to Gus. Looking at him intently while the others continued to chat eagerly, unaware of their staring contest. Ally felt her blood boil.

Eventually she forced herself to relax and engage in the conversation with the rest of Gus´s coworkers. The feeling nagging her the entire time. But she managed to ignore it and enjoy herself a little.

A bit after midnight they all started saying their goodbyes, Lauren included. They all shook her hand enthusiastically.

-It was a pleasure to meet you- David said smiling widely, holding her hand between his

-Oh yes, yes it certainly was! Wasn´t it? - Lauren´s cloying voice chimed in as she pushed David aside taking her turn to shake Ally´s hand- It´s been great to get to know your girl… Gus- her words directed at him but her stare fixated on her face. Ally smiled patting her back slightly- nice to meet you too, Lauren.

She swiftly turned her body to Gus and hugged him, her breasts brushing his chest as she did so- Thanks for having us! See you Monday!

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she broke apart.

-My pleasure- Gus simply replied and went to escort them all out of the apartment.
