“Mom!” Adler leapt out of his chair and ran to his mother as she opened the door and stepped into Alexander’s office.
“Oh, Adler! I’ve been so worried…” His mother embraced him to her as he hunched down into her and buried his face into her neck.
“Help me, mom…” He whispered to her in a choked sob.
She patted and rubbed his back to sooth him like when he was a small boy. “Everything will be fine, Addy…come on now…be brave for mom.”
Adler sniffled and stood up, not towering over his mother like he did most women…she was tall, her Lycan genes attributing to that.
