“Shush…don’t say it out loud…” Jesse reached up and clamped a hand over Adler’s mouth. “It’s too early to let anyone know.”
His eyes lit up and a grin spread out over his face under her hand. Jesse saw it and clucked her tongue. “I knew if you concentrated enough you would be able to tell, but I don’t want you to get too excited just yet…”
Adler removed her hand from his mouth and scowled at her. “Why the heck not?”
“This is a dangerous time for…” Jesse twisted her mouth. “We’re the same as humans, you know…the first few weeks are not certain.”
