How soon, Rory wondered as Bond unlocked the door, will it take him to realize who I am and what we shared that long ago night in Germany? He could tell him outright, but he’d thought it would be more meaningful if Bond were nudged along to discover it on his own. Bond had told him a service-related head injury sometimes caused headaches. He’d received a Purple Heart for it, and maybe it had caused enough damage to erase the memory of their time together.
