** Freya’s POV **
The first week was the worst, but not because of Joel and Jasmine. I manage to avoid them both and only see Joel when he comes to pick up Neo on Saturday. It’s the rest of the pack that is the problem. The drama of Joel bringing home a mate when we convinced everyone we were already mated has been the talk of the pack. I hold my head high and do my best to ignore it, but I hear their whispers and see their looks of sympathy, which don’t help. I don’t want their pity.
Nail continues to message me daily, and I continue to ignore him. I do speak to Gwen often though. The Alpha allowed me to work from home for a week, but today, I have to return to the pack house.
