I don't know what is going on with Hope these last few days. Things have not been the same since her mother showed up in town three days ago. She just came out of the blue and we both knew immediately why she came back.
My mother wasn't the best mother, mainly because she didn't have time for me, but she never left me, neither did she turn her back on me, and I was not an easy child to deal with. I can't tell you the number of times my parents got out of trouble.
Now this woman is something else. She did not come back because she had a daughter she needs, neither did she come because she missed her. She came because she thought she could quickly buck off her daughter.
