The mood inside the room was subdued. Nailah sat on one side of the hospital bed, gently stroking Eleanor’s hand. On the other hand, they had finally prevailed on Caine to take the other chair. He sat with his head bowed, clutching Eleanor’s fingers as if it was his only lifeline while his thoughts raged. Gus stood at the window, seemingly lost in his own thoughts. Zero’s answer had come twenty minutes ago: Columbus. He had managed to track the flight from New York as well as the rental’s GPS, giving Gus a full rundown of their target’s movements.
