Caine took several deep breaths before stepping inside. Gus followed, but it was Caine’s show, and he wouldn’t interfere. Bear was the first to realize he had arrived. Standing, the Rottweiler lumbered over to greet him. Accepting pets, the canine turned and led him to where Eleanor sat. At the bar counter, Eleanor perched on a stool next to an older woman that had to be his mother. She had a pensive expression on her face that Caine recognized all too well.
