Eleanor was finishing the last of her prep work when Caine returned after stowing his tools in his truck. The stove's timer sounded warning, and she hurried to take out their meal. Taking off his cut, Caine hung it on the back of his chair and helped carry the sides to the table. Eleanor joined him, bringing the main course. Setting it down on a hot pad, Eleanor spooned some of the hotdish onto his plate before serving herself. Anxiously, she sat and waited for his verdict. Caine added a bit of pepper and took his first bite. “H-how is it?” Eleanor asked, unsure if she really wanted the answer. Caine smirked at his anxious expression, “It’s good. Why would you think it wasn’t?” Eleanor sighed relief as he helped himself to another bite. Caine almost chuckled at her obvious relief. S
