Annalise
The air was suffocating, thick with tension and the scent of the forest. My heart thumped so violently I thought it might burst from my chest. Another shift in the shadows drew my attention, and I turned just in time to see the two Lycans from before stepping into view.
The pitch-black Lycan holding me lowered me gently to the ground, his golden eyes never leaving mine. I stumbled, trying to regain my balance, but then I froze.
They were surrounding me.
The three of them stood in a semi-circle, their massive forms towering over me. Their amber eyes glowed with something primal, something untamed, and I felt the edges of my vision blur. The weight of their combined presence was too much.
Why were there Lycans around me? Why weren’t they attacking each other?
