Chapter One
“We need to go out tonight. I haven’t been with a woman in weeks, asshole.” I was seriously starting to go fucking crazy. A guy like me needed sex. Sure, it was true that I never stuck around after the first night, but that wasn’t the point. All of my friends seemed to be in some sort of relationship. Here I was single as hell, which I was okay with. The only problem now was that I didn’t have a wingman anymore. Even Ace and Maverick had women they were seeing on a regular. Having to be with one woman every day for the rest of my life didn’t seem all that appealing. Joel put his arm around Eve’s shoulder and smiled at me. “Soren, you need a fucking hobby, man. The wedding is coming up soon, and you need a date. Are you going to just keep hopping around from woman to woman until you get lucky and one agrees to come with you?” I picked up the chocolate muffin sitting across me and threw it at his head. Yeah, I was an immature prick, but they all knew that already. “You are really funny, asshole.” Eve flashed her sweet little smile at me, and I knew I was about to get one of her suggestions. “Why don’t you go on a dating app? I hear that they have a high success rate.” “Uh, not you too,” I groaned. “If I wanted a date, I would have a date. All I want to do is for you two to have my back and go out with me tonight. What do you have better to do?” Joel looked at Eve and flashed a smile as he slightly licked his lips. “We will be occupied, trust me. Why don’t you ask Ace or Maverick to go with you?” “I did. They are going out with their girlfriends tonight. That fucking sounds miserable as hell. No offense to you two.” Eve laughed and leaned into the table. “None taken. We are happy, Soren. It’s something that you might want to think about. You won’t be young forever, you know. We all have gotten closer in this last year. Don’t you want to experience what we all have?” I laughed harder than I’ve laughed in a long time. “No. I’ll tell you what I want, which is a girl in my bed between my sheets, doing horribly dirty things to me.” “You are a pig,” Eve laughed before sitting back. I don’t know why I agreed to have coffee with them at this damn coffee house. I didn’t even like coffee all that much. I’ve been restless for the past few weeks. Since Joel and Eve were getting married, they got their own place. Ace, Maverick, and I lived together until they got girlfriends. Once it became serious, they moved out and left me all alone. At first, it was nice. Now it’s just lonely as hell. All of my friends were growing up and getting lives of their own while I was still going out at night with a different woman on my arm by the end of it, leading her back to my place. Well, that is stretching the truth a little. It was that way, but lately, I haven’t been able to get a girl in the sack for weeks. To say that I was extremely sexually frustrated was an understatement. That’s exactly why I needed to go out tonight. Joel finally broke the silence, piquing my interest. “Why don’t you go to that new club they opened up downtown? I heard it’s a little intense, though.” “Are you talking about the sex club? I don’t need to go to some fucking sex club to get laid. All I need is one wingman. You don’t even have to do anything, just conversate with the ugly friend while I steal away the hot friend. Come one. You guys are supposed to be my friends.” Eve rolled her eyes then whispered something in Joel’s ear before turning her attention back to me. “Fine. We will go out with you tonight, but the minute I see you with a girl who seems interested, we are going home. We still have a lot to prepare for the wedding. It’s coming faster than I thought it would.” “Are you nervous?” Joel asked, running his thumb along her jaw. “Nope. Not one bit. I knew what I was getting into when I said yes to you, and I’m ready for us to finally tie the knot.” Yuck. They made me sick. However, I had to say that it was nice to see all my friends happy. Joel had Eve, Cole had Mia, and Ace and Maverick had their new girlfriends. Everyone seemed to be happy. I wouldn’t tell them how much I cared, though I’m sure they knew. I’m the crazy friend that gets into trouble all the time and is a little more immature than the rest of my group. I’m okay with that. I just wish they would all stop hounding me about finding a woman to settle down with. If I were ready to do that, I would be doing that, but I’m not. I’m still living my young days as best as I can, and settling down with one woman isn’t it for me. “Eve is going to be my wingman, though. Joel, no offense, man, but you are horrible at flirting. Eve is hot, which means even women are attracted to her. Besides, she has this dark, mysterious side to her that women find intriguing.” Joel rolled his eyes but nodded. He knew as well as I did that Eve was better at that sort of thing than he was. “Fine,” Eve crossed her arms, “but I have terms if I’m going to agree to this.” Oh, lovely. “Yeah, and what are those terms?” She leaned in with a smile that made my blood run cold. “I get to pick the woman.” She sat back against her chair, still smiling. “If I’m going to help you out, then I at least get to pick her out.” “Okay, but don’t pick out some hideous woman, please. The idea is to try and get laid tonight, not have me running from the club screaming.” ** After coffee, I went back to my place to work out for a few hours. Once I got done with my workout, I’d run for about an hour then I would get ready to go out. Fuck, was I ready to go out. I always had one rule when it came to bringing a woman back to my place: never call her and sleep with her again. Surprisingly, it’s worked for me for years, but it has slowly died down. My sex life has consisted more of me jerking myself off than actually having sex with a woman. Yeah, I know, extremely frustrating. As I finished my workout, there was a knock on my door. Oh, what now? I wrapped a towel around my neck and headed for the door. Jasmine was standing there when I opened it, looking me up and down. “Hey there, Soren.” “Jasmine. Hey. What’s up?” “Well, I was in the neighborhood and thought that we could mess around like old times. I didn’t have your number, so it wasn’t like I could call you.” Another one of my rules. Never get the woman’s number in case she turns into some crazed obsessed woman. That I couldn’t handle. “Maybe another time. I’m sort of in the middle of a workout right now.” She stuck her hand out and ran it across my sweaty abs. Just her touch alone made my dick hard. Jasmine and I never actually had sex. We got interrupted after she gave me head. One of her friends came into the room searching for her and told her that they had to go before she did something stupid that she would regret. Even if we didn’t have sex, I felt like my rule applied. Jasmine pushed us inside and closed the door with her high heel. “Let’s finish what we started a few months ago.” She was a cool girl and all, but not this cool. “Listen, Jasmine. I’m going to be honest here with you because I appreciate you coming down here, but I’m not into dating anyone right now.” “I know,” she licked her bottom lip. “No offense, Soren, but you aren’t a relationship type of guy. I came here because I wanted sex, nothing more, nothing less.” I was a little surprised by her admittance. It was an extreme turn-on to hear that she only wanted me for my body but sort of pushed me the wrong way when she said I wasn’t relationship material. “What do you mean by that? I am capable of dating women.” “Sure, you are. If you mean date as in have sex with them and never talk to them again, then sure.” She smacked her lips and pushed her hand into my gym shorts. “This is a one-time offer, Soren. It is about to expire.” I grabbed her hair in my fist and pushed my tongue down her throat. Jasmine pulled her dress up around her hips, showing off the perfect curves of her body and that sweet little thong she was wearing underneath. “You smell. How about we continue this in the shower?” She asked while kissing on my neck. I laughed. “You love it, and you know it. Get down on your knees.” I was kind of surprised when she did, but I pulled my gym shorts down anyway and pushed her head forward, forcing her to take in my full length. “See? You like it.” ** A few hours later, I had jumped out of the shower and started to get ready for tonight. Things with Jasmine took an unexpected turn when her boyfriend showed up at my door ten minutes after she showed up. She had enough nerve to sneak out of one of my windows, pretending that she was never there. See? Psycho. I didn’t need that kind of woman in my life. Now I was even more sexually frustrated than before, considering I didn’t get to finish. I threw on a white V-neck and some jeans with a belt. After putting some gel in my hair, I finally got it to stick up slightly in the front. I used the rest of the gel to slick back the rest. Some people would say that I put more into my appearance than I did with anything else in my life, but I just liked to look good all the time. There wasn’t anything wrong with that. Before too long, Eve and Joel were knocking at my door. Joel took one look around the place and snuck up his nose at me. “This place is a wreck, man.” “Yeah, well, this is what being single looks like. I don’t have time to clean between working and going out. Most women don’t seem to mind.” Eve scrunched her nose in disgust. “Yeah, because they obviously have low standards.” I couldn’t help but smile at her. Eve had become like my little sister. She had been honest with me and seen me for someone different than everyone else did. Sometimes, I think that she is the only one who sees the real me. “Are you guys ready?” I asked to clear my thoughts. Joel grabbed Eve’s hand and started to walk out the door. “Let’s get this over with. I’d like to get you back home as soon as possible.” Eve giggled as she stepped into the cab, and I couldn’t help but smile too. Seeing my friend so happy made everything not seem so dull in my life. At least everyone around me was extremely happy, and that’s all I could ask for.
