Chapter 13
Wade
Lance didn’t make it home the next day, and by the middle of the second day, Wade was in a horrible mood. He’d received only a short text from Lance, saying he wouldn’t be home that day. Then when morning came, Wade had texted him, but he’d never received a response.
Since he didn’t know when Lance would get back, he called his friend Mike and asked if it was okay to move the visit to his Christmas Tree Farm to next weekend. Mike was fine with it and they chatted for a few minutes.
Wade had spent the day dropping off hay in various areas throughout the pasture. Meteorologists were calling for heavy snow in the next few days, and they wanted to make sure the cattle had enough feed.
When he drove the trailer back to the barn, he ran into Casey coming out the side door.
