Hunter’s P.O.V.
“How did this happen, Lucifer?” I asked the man who was responsible for my operation here in Manhattan. He was a capable person, but he was facing some problems due to someone snitching on us. “It was unexpected, Mr. Knight. We didn’t know that she had a cyanide capsule inside her teeth,” he answered me without any hesitation. My jaw clenched hard while I stared at him blankly. He lowered his eyes, but I couldn’t say that it was his mistake. I had seen her body, and there were no marks of any kind of physical torture. Although she was a traitor, I still had some principles. None of us even expected that Ariel would go to this extent to save the person for whom she was working. I had my own ideas but I wasn’t sure about that.
