Chapter One Hundred and Forty-One. Jessie.
I feel so damned helpless, as Diana’s body trembles in my arms. I guess it is true what they say, that life gives with one hand and takes with the other. One minute I am looking forward to celebrating passing my exam with Diana tied to my bed, the next I am looking at the mutilated body of her friend, and one of my brother’s employees. As much as I am here to comfort my woman, both Jason and I, also need to know more information about our victim, to try and put together the pieces of her life, and subsequent death. I also need to inform my superiors that I have a connection to the girl through Diana and Devon. I just hope they do not boot me off the case. I have devoted too much time and effort to it to be told to stand down now.
