I blow out a nervous breath as I stand at the entrance of the church hall, not quite able to step over the threshold. Not because of any religious beliefs, but because I am dreading stepping on the scales, and seeing the damage I have done to myself over the past few years. The large sign with happy people, and Simmers Land written on it, is standing at the entrance, alongside another one that says ‘You CAN do it’ a picture of a tape measure beside it.
