Brie's pov The piercing sound of a she-wolf's scream tore through the quiet stillness of the night. It was a raw, primal sound, filled with a raw, unadulterated terror. I burst out of my room, my heart pounding a frantic rhythm against my ribs. I ran, my feet a silent whisper on the cool, stone floor. The air around her was thick with the scent of fear, a sharp, bitter tang that made my own stomach clench with an awful apprehension.
