The Royalties

Chapter 5

Kiara:

“Found them” Rebecca said looking at the painting.

She looked at Ashton who walked toward the painting and removed it revealing the secret door hidden behind it.

“Stay here” Harry ordered our children; I had expected them to object but they didn’t they simply nodded and stood their grounds looking at me and Harry.

I looked at Harry frowning in confusion, and he shook his head sharing the same confused look, but we both knew that we had no time to dwell on their sudden calm behavior.

Harry opened the door to walk inside the secret room only for the ground to crack separating us from the door, Harry grabbed me by my waist and vampire sped us away from danger.

We looked at the door to find Andrea, Mia, Rolan, Rebecca, Ashton and Rosally standing by the door with wide eyes.

“What is going on here?” I asked wide eyed as I looked at the people who were trying to get us to enter the secret room and frowned when I saw that dark shadows were forming around them.

Our kids, Rosally and Ashton vampire sped toward us and Andrea formed a fire circle around us protecting us inside it.

“Shifters”

Mia:

We could smell fire in the palace grounds.

“Something is wrong” Rolan said standing up from Andrea’s bed “we need to get out of here, mum and dad are in danger”

Rolan and Rebecca tried breaking the door but it was sealed by a spell, I looked at them trying to think rationally, if something was going on then we needed to get out and we needed to do it fast.

“Andrea! Can you unseal the door?” I asked him.

“I’ve never done it, but I can try” Andrea said frowning “what are you thinking?”

“We need to get out of here, if mum and dad were in danger they wouldn’t know what hit them, especially now” I said walking around, I could smell the fire grow and the smell of blood was filling my nostrils.

“The palace is turning into a bloodbath” I said wide eyed, my heart was racing, and I knew that my eyes were glowing as worry filled my senses.

“Mia you need to calm down” Rebecca said shaking me trying to get me to snap out of my daze.

“Mum and dad” I said worriedly.

“We’ll get them, but right now you need to breathe” Rebecca said looking me in the eye, I knew that her wolf was getting restless, but she stayed calm and kept her under control.

Andrea was standing by the door a silver shimmer was around him as he worked on unsealing and reversing the spell which was on the door in hopes that we can open it.

His body tensed as he moved his hand slowly motioning for the metal to snap open, which it did under his command, he balled his hands in fists then opened them making the door fly away breaking as it hit the wall in the hall.

The two guards who were supposed to be at the door were dead on the ground with stakes in their chests, I took Rebecca in my arms and closed her eyes not wanting her to see the horror which was in front of us.

Rolan and Andrea were both wide eyed as they took in the sight in front of them, Andrea’s eyes met my own and I shook my head in fear, never in our lives had we seen anything like this in the palace.

“Your majesties!” Ashton vampire sped toward us along with Rosally but Rolan acted before we could process their arrival and vampire sped toward Ashton pinning him to the wall with his hand on his throat choking him.

“What have you done to mother and father?” Rolan asked angrily, the dark aura formed around him, and I knew that he would suck out Ashton’s life out if he kept this going.

“Prince Rolan please stop” Rosally begged running to Ashton’s side in hope that Rolan would let him go “they’ve got the king and queen, they’re in the throne room”

“Who are they?” Andrea asked angrily, Rebecca slowly pulled Rolan away from Ashton and Ashton took deep slow breaths trying to regain his breathing.

“We don’t know, they were in your form, burning the palace down, attacking the guards, lords and maids…”

“What do you mean they were in our form?” Rebecca asked stopping Rosally, her ocean blue eyes were glaring at both Rosally and Ashton

“Whoever had attacked had taken your form your majesties, they were even using your powers, we thought it was you but when we saw that your door was locked and heard your voices inside the chamber we knew the seriousness of the situation” Rosally answered.

“One of the shifters took my form, he’s run toward the king and queen, we don’t know what they’re planning but if they get the king and queen in their trap…”

“How do we know you aren’t lying?” Rolan asked stopping Ashton and glaring at both him and Rosally, his emerald green eyes glowing as he prepared himself to attack them should he see or sense that they were danger.

Ashton took out a dagger which father had given him years ago, it was always in his belt we knew that for fact and we also knew that since it was magically formed we knew that no one could hold or touch it if it wasn’t him, anyone else would end up dying or burnt.

“We need to get through the palace grounds without being traced” I said looking at Andrea who nodded and vampire sped to the chamber with us following close behind, getting a box from one of the closets he had.

I put a hand on Rolan’s shoulder calming him down as I was now sure that it was impossible for Ashton or Rosally to be lying, Rolan nodded and somewhat relaxed though I could see and sense the worry in his body language.

We looked at Andrea as he threw the content of the box on the coffee table, which was in front of the fireplace, standing there and watching him not knowing what he was doing or what he was looking for in the mess of gems which were on the table.

He took out six violet ametrine gems and put them on the floor in front of the fireplace wanting to get more power from the fire; it being an element he could use when doing powerful spells, which I’m assuming was what he was doing right now.

He extended his hands on top of the gems and the gems started floating as the fire increased in front of him, he started chanting a spell and the gems glowed as they flew in mid air glowing before they dropped to the ground when he stopped his chant.

He looked at the gems breathing heavily, I walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder squeezing it in a comforting manner and he smiled softly at me before taking the gems in his hand and handing each one of us one.

“You need to be careful” Andrea said looking at us “the spell is strong and should keep us concealed from being tracked by maps or spells, but whoever is out there could see us should we cross paths”

We nodded and put the gems in our pockets before walking out of the chamber and heading toward the throne room, though it wasn’t without a challenge as the attackers saw us and went to attack us, Andrea used his elementra powers to either zap them with thunder bolts or to burn them with fire, I could tell he wasn’t in the mood for a fair battle with mum and dad somewhere in danger.

We reached the hall leading to the throne room and it was literally on fire blocking the passage to the door.

We looked at Andrea who controlled the fire making it shrink until it disappeared and the hall despite it being burned, we were able to walk and pass through.

We stood at the door of the throne room finding mum and dad standing beside the shifters who have taken our figure and the man taking Ashton’s figure removing the painting leading to the secret door.

“Stay here” dad ordered, and the shifters stood their grounds making mum and dad frown in confusion as they knew that we’d be arguing them to be going inside with them and not leave them alone.

Mum and dad walked to the door and dad extended a hand to open the door, the shifters watching intently wanting them to enter the secret room.

Using his power, Andrea cracked the ground under mum and dad making their eyes widen in horror and dad carried mum and vampire sped her away from danger, their eyes wide in fright.

Their eyes caught us standing by the door and they widened in confusion as they looked between us and the shifters who stood in the middle of the throne room.

“What is going on here?” dad asked looking at us confusion lacing his voice and written all over his face, my siblings, Rosally, Ashton and I vampire sped to their side and Andrea formed a fire circle around us protecting us from the intruders who had dark shadows and auras forming around them as they shifted to their normal state.
