DAMIEN’S POV
I had every intention of keeping Victoria at an arm’s distance. I didn’t want the stupid mate bond to grow any stronger and I didn’t want her to get any ideas. I didn’t want her to think that I was going to get to a point where I accepted her or to even think I saw a future between us. I didn’t want her and I didn’t want to want her at any point.
William knew and understood what was expected of her. He knew that I expected him to make sure that he kept his eye on her and made sure that she never went to parts of the island that she didn’t he any business being at. Maybe I was being too cold and distant towards her but I had to be. I had to keep my distance from her.
