I had no idea why the Council members were here. Surely, the idiots over at the Lakeside pack hadn't been stupid enough to call them! Alpha Simmons had made it clear what would happen. I was concerned that someone would have been ordered to kill her the second that they showed up. I ran to the dungeon. No one was touching her, at least not until we knew for sure why they were here. I rushed to her cell and saw her curled up on the mattress. I had planned to just stand guard outside her door, but looking in at her, I changed my mind. I entered her cell and sat down beside her just as I had earlier. I reached out and moved the hair that had fallen across her face, and she looked up at me. I smiled "Hello my sleeping beauty," I said. She sat up and stared at me silently.
