“Hi, Dad.” Blake looked nervous.
“Hi, Son, what’s up?” Luc smiled and Sarah shrugged when he raised one brow at her.
“Uhm, I’m just going to come out and say it. I know you’ve all been worried because I didn’t apply to any colleges. I just wanted to tell you that I enlisted. I’m shipping out tomorrow.” Blake seemed to blurt it out.
“You did WHAT?” Sarah’s jaw dropped.
“Enlisted where?” Luc frowned, not sure how he felt about that. He kind of almost expected something like that from Blake.
“The army. I need to report for training on Monday.” He twisted the cap in his hands in such a tight bundle that it would probably never fit him again.
