Alpha Annie’s POV
I open my eyes and stretch my arms out above my head as I look down at my body, which is still fully clothed in my evening gown. I sit up carefully and scan the room around me. Kade is nowhere to be seen. The bed is empty and I can’t hear him in the bathroom either. I briefly consider that history may have repeated itself. That he has changed his mind yet again and left me here alone, broken my heart and left me to pick up the pieces. I don’t get a chance to consider the possibility for much longer as the room door clicks open to reveal Kade looking back at me with a smile. I smile softly in return while I watch him approach the bed, shirtless with his suit pants still on. He hands me a coffee and flops back down on the bed bedside me.
