(Amara POV)
I made my way to the throne room. They were all waiting for me there.
Once I reach everyone greeted me except Soren. To be honest I felt my heart broke to pieces.
What is wrong with him? Does he think I am that unworthy?
I ground my teeth as I walked to the others.
"So you are familiar with the darkness that is surging in a different part of the dominion?" Zamir asked as I nodded.
"Yes. My father and I used to come here from time to time and investigate. I am able to trace it as a bad spirit but I still can't find it" I said as they looked at me in shock.
"How do you know it’s a bad spirit?" Neith, the silent one in the Azurian asks.
"I can feel it. I don’t know how but ever since young, I am able to sense a spirit. Like I am sense Neith" I said to which they look at me in utter shock.
"You know I am a spirit?! How?!" Neith came forth as she grabbed my shoulders.
"From the day I saw you. I don’t know how but I can sense a spirit ever since I was born. But I am genuinely confused. How can you come here without a spirit host?" I asked as she stared at me still in shock.
"A higher spirit has energy and power capable enough to go to other lands without a body. Even though Neith is not born in a higher family, she is chosen as an Azurian so she has the power" Zamil said as I nodded wanting to ask more.
"Since when can you feel Spirits?" he asked scanning me completely.
"Since I was born. Maybe it is something I inherited forms my aunt, Imelda."
"Imelda? The one who was said to be the last vessel of a spirit?" Soren asked as I nodded my head.
"Yes. I don’t know the story behind it but they all thought she was dead. When I was 7 she returned with her mate Aiden. They leave far away from the kingdom inside the dark forest. They only appear randomly and surprisingly it’s the same time I have dreams" I said as he nodded his head.
"What dream?"
"It's all blurry. I see a lot of fights and cities being burnt" I frowned trying to remember. But I always see something crash to our land. At first, my parents didn’t believe me but what I say is always right. They always find a huge crater. It's always empty but I would feel something from that place."
"Spirits?" Tyr asked as I nodded.
"Yea"
"How many times did you find the crater?"
"3"
They all looked at each other and then at me.
"Only 3? Are you sure?" Neith asked worry filled her eyes.
"So…." She turned and looked at the others. "We have a chance" her voice was filled with hope.
"With her help, we might," Zamil said and I saw Soren's eyes widen.
"I don’t think it’s a good idea" Soren suddenly voiced as I frowned. "We don’t need to involve her in this mission."
"But she can sense a spirit and she will be of great help," Zamil said as Soren ground his teeth.
He looked at me, his expression was void but his eyes showed a different unidentifiable emotion.
"I don’t think such an arrogant and self-centered girl will be of help," he said making my eyes widen. I growled at his words but he just ignores me.
"I think Soren is right," Tyr said as my head whipped to him. Does he also think the same?! Am I really like that?
"I mean I think it's not a good idea to involve a girl in such a dangerous situation. She is not self-centered or arrogant" he said giving a glare at Soren before continuing. "But involving her in a mission that is for Azurians need considerate thinking.
"Then let's vote" Zamil quickly voice as I stared at them nodding in agreement.
"I am sorry but I am right here you know?" I said annoyed. How can they just ignore me and make the decisions!
"I know. I am so sorry Princess. But please give us some time. This is important" he said staring into my eyes with nothing but seriousness.
I didn’t know why but felt like the need to obey him. I felt intimidated by his look.
"Ok" I took a step back looking away.
"Alright," he said turning to his members. I crossed my fingers hoping that the majority will allow me to know their mission.
"Who all are in favor of not telling her please raise your hand."
I stared at the number of hands raised.
4 out of 5.
"I am so sorry but it's dangerous," Eir said giving me a pitying look.
I looked at Soren who looked around at the hands satisfied. I bit my lips and took a deep breath.
"It's settled then. She will help us without knowing the mission" Soren said as the others nodded.
"I am sorry, Princess Amara," he said as I waved my hand.
"It's ok. I got it. I am not an Azurian like you. Maybe that is why some even don’t acknowledge me as what I am" I said intentionally looking at my mate who stared at me with a void expression.
"Don’t worry about that! He is not always like that. Well…." Eir puts her hand on her chin in confusion. "Usually he ignores everyone around. He just acts like he doesn’t care. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with him now but don’t take it personally" she said as I smiled.
How can I not take it personally? I know he is acting like that because he is disgusted by the fact that I am his mate.
Atarah whimpered on hearing that from me.
"Ok" I replied ignoring the sting in my heart.
