Imani I remained silent as Judge Jackson drove us back to his cabin. I stared at the passing scenery, still in awe of the outside world. For the first time in my existence, I felt peace. I had a wolf; I wouldn’t be killed. I could sleep without keeping one eye open. I snuck a glance at Judge Jackson, and I feared if he gripped the steering wheel any tighter that it would crumble under the pressure. It was determined that Dr. Hemsworth would collect blood work from me once a week to follow my “progression,” and to see if he could predict when my wolf would make her appearance.
