31. There is no escape

Iris Their familiar dry woody smell exploded in my nostrils, as fear and adrenaline pumped into my blood in equal amounts. Alpha Zack found me, or at least his men did it. A lump formed in my throat as I heard the approaching steps of the wolves from the Northern Lights Pack; they were close, too close. I’d never let them come this close before. I was very attentive and at the first sign of them, I was already on the move. But this time, I wasn’t on top of my game. The Lycan Alpha distracted me with his alluring eyes and delicious smell. One way or another, Fates seemed to find a way to have me doomed. Looking around carefully, I took a deep breath while their heartbeats buzzed in my ears. There were two of them approaching me with long strides, even closer than I initially thought.
