"My king, please, don't do this," I heard someone say. I slowly opened my eyes to find his beta holding his hand. "Please forgive her."
"Daniel," he growled. "Why should I forgive her?"
"She didn't know anything about this," he uttered. "She's innocent."
"She isn't innocent, beta," he sneered.
His gaze burned deep inside me. I trembled at the sight of his burning face. "She caused everything. She made me lose all I have worked for."
"I know, but she is innocent," he insisted. "The king loves her, and he won't be happy if he gets to know that you hurt her."
