Unveiling Loyalties
Finn’s stance.
“So, what did you do at the office today?” she implored.
“Just the normal stuff. Work and work,” I complained. “I’m so tired.”
“Have you eaten, Finn?”
“No, baby.”
“Why?” I queried.
“I’m too busy to think about that,” I replied.
“What?” she cried. “You need to eat.”
“You don’t have to worry. I’ll be fine.”
“No, I won’t allow that,” she bristled as she rose to her feet. “I need to get something for you to eat.”
She walked out of the room, her caring nature evident, but her stubbornness prevented her from listening to me. Soon, she returned with a tray of food.
“Stand up and eat this,” she instructed, handing me the meal. She watched as I ate, and when I was done, she gave me water to drink.
“Are you okay?” she questioned.
“Yes, honey,” I respo
