It's Her

Evan's Pov:

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing which slightly annoyed me since I was sleeping peacefully which is a rarity for me. As soon as I saw who was calling I decided against yelling at who has woke me up at four in the morning.

"Hello", I say rubbing my eyes trying to get woke up since I'd be up in a few hours anyway so might as well as get up now. "Evan is there anyway you could leave for Golden Moon early", Liam asks urgency in his voice making me wonder what had happened. "Yeah has something happened", I ask wide awake now wondering what could have happened.

"Alpha's daughter was attacked", Liam says as I sit there in shock not saying a word. "Evan you still there", I hear Liam ask after a few moments. "Yeah I'm still here do you know what happened", I ask worried about the girl I have yet to meet. "Yeah I want you, Brent, and Max in my office as soon as you can get here", he says and I get up to ready. "I'll be there in ten", I tell him knowing that whatever happened to her must be bad.

After hanging up with Liam I rushed to get dressed I didn't bother with making coffee knowing whatever happened had to have been serious. True to my word I arrived at Liam's office within the next ten minutes as I walked so did Max who was clearly still half asleep. Brent was already in the office along with Mia and Liam all with serious expressions on their faces.

"Okay so what was so important that you dragged me hear before sunrise", Max grumbles. "Shut up max this is serious", Mia says as Max notices his sisters expression for the first time. "Alpha Reynolds daughter was attacked two days ago as you know Evan was supposed to go and help the girl which is still your priority she will need as much help as she can get", Liam says looking at me I nod in agreement not interrupting him.

"When she was attacked she was at a party with her friends when she was drugged and later pulled into a room by one of her packmates where he beat her and tried to assault her", Liam continues and I can Drake starting to get angry as I clench my fists trying to stay in control. "Evan are you alright", Mia asks and I see everyone looking at me concerned. "Yeah sorry please continue", I tell Liam as Drake starts to calm down leaving my confused as to why he got so worked up.

"Anyways Evan your main priority is to help the girl Brent will also assist you but he will also help Max find the guy responsible for the attack", Liam tells us. "You mean the guy got away", Max ask an angry look on his face. "Yes he managed to jump out the window before help arrived afterwards he managed to slip past border patrol and is now hiding somewhere and since you have the best nose for tracking I'm sending you to assist with finding him Brent will also assist since he is very good at finding people who don't wanna be found", Liam says and an evil smirk plays on Brent's face.

"It will be a pleasure it has been sometime since I have had a good hunt", Brent says with an evil glint in his eyes that sends a shiver down my spine. I would not want to be this guy when Max and Brent find him I remember very well the things Brent is capable of and believe me it's not fun. "When are we leaving", Max asks no doubt anxious to get started he to loves a good hunt. "I think it best if you leave tonight", Liam says as Mia agrees with him. "Oh and when you catch him make sure you don't kill him he need to stand trial", Liam says looking over at me. "Evan", I here Mia call before I follow the others out. "Yeah", I ask turning back to face her and Liam wondering what she wants. "Whatever you see in Golden Moon you must keep Drake under control", she says confusing me but I agree to it.

"EVAN were leaving without you if you don't get down here", Max shouts as I zip my suit case. "No you want and I'm coming you know I did have some work I had to finish I do have a day job you know", I tell him coming down the stairs with my bags. "Yeah yeah let's go", Max says heling me load my stuff in the trunk. "Okay so what exactly do we know", I ask Brent as he pulls out one of the files and hands it to me while Max drives.

"The victim was Sara Reynolds the only daughter of the alpha and heir of the pack she had been at a party with friends she had a few drinks but not enough to make make her drunk witnesses say she was mostly sober", Brent says. "According to her friends she walked off to go to the bathroom sometime later they heard her howl before her beta could get the door open the assailant had jumped from the window escaping into the woods", Brent explains reading from one the files. 

"Do we know who the guy is", Max asks gripping the wheel tightly. "Yes, a boy by the name of Trey Jefferies he is a warrior of the pack and has made multiple passes at our victim", I state looking at the notes in the file I'm reading. "How good of a warrior is he the higher ranking he is the harder to catch he'll be", Max asks. "Says here he a good fighter but lacks patience and shows signs of extreme anger the head warrior requested he see a psychologist and get tested", I tell them looking at the notes in the file.

"So what's that mean exactly", Max asks glancing back through the rearview mirror. "It means that when cornered he most likely will fight rather than surrender", I sigh hoping I'm wrong and he'll just give up. "I already don't like this kid", Max says annoyed. "I can tell just catch him quickly and then you can go home to your family", i tell him noticing Brent is being awfully quiet. "Something wrong", I ask him placing a hand on his shoulder knocking him out of whatever trance he's in. "He's not going to give up he wants her I'm not sure why", he says and me and Max know know he had a vison. "Max get us there fast", I tell him feeling Drake stir restless wanting to get to Golden as soon as possible. 

As soon as we pass into pack territory we were met by the beta and boarder patrol who took us straight to the hospital where the alpha was waiting. "Welcome to Golden Moon though I wish my greeting was under better circumstances", Alpha Reynolds says greeting us. "As do we", Max says shaking his hand greeting the older alpha with a serious expression. "I know these two you look familiar but I can't place where I've seen you", he says shaking my hand. "Evan Richards sir", I tell him looking away not wanting to look into his judging eyes but I suppose I deserve it after everything I did. "Aw yes I should have guessed you look like your father I'm sorry what happened to your family it was tragedy what happened and what you forced to do I couldn't imagine the pain you feel", he says shocking me when I look and see he's sincere.

"Okay now that introductions are done I say we get down to business", Max says cracking his knuckles. "Wouldn't you three like to get settled in first", Alpha Reynolds asks. "We can do that later I just spent hours in a car with to dudes and besides scents don't stick around forever so if you don't mind taking me to the last place he was seen I would like to get started tracking", Max states making the alpha nod. "Of course thank you my beta is waiting for outside his name is Jack he will take you to the spot and thank you for come Beta Max", He tells Max. "You coming", Max asks turning to Brent. "No I will join you later but for now I think I will be needed here", Brent says making Max nod before taking off.

"Follow me please I'll show you to my daughters room though I will warn you she may not speak she hasn't said a word since that night", Alpha Reynolds says before leading us down the hall. I wanted to ask Brent what he meant by he was needed here but I started to Drake stir again trying to takeover which was taking every ounce of strength I had to keep him under control. We walked in silence following the alpha Brent kept looking over at probably noticing my struggle. The further we got down the hall I started noticing a beautiful but it was mixed with the chemical smells you'd find in a hospital making it difficult to pinpoint.

We finally stopped in front of a door and I realized the smell was coming from inside. The alpha was the first to walk in I was next followed by Brent. As soon as I saw her I knew who she was and what we are I couldn't hold in the growl I was holding in any longer. "Mate", I growled out shocking Alpha Reynolds making his eyes go wide as he stares at me before looking back to the girl. That's when it hit she was his daughter my mate was the one who had been attacked.

I let out another growl this one even louder I was angry my mate is the one I'd be helping someone had hurt her. I felt Drake take full control as we turned to leave turning to leave we wanted blood we wanted the blood of the one who had hurt our beautiful mate. Before I could get out the door I felt hands push me into the wall I began to fight to get loose. "Drake give Evan back control now", I heard Brent hiss as we kept fight to get loose. "No we want him he's gonna die", we growl still struggling to get free.

"EVAN CALM YOURSELF NOW!!!!!!!", Brent shouts shoving me into the wall again. "If not for yourself then do it for her your mate needs you here Max and I will find Trey your the only who can help", He says forcing me to focus on my mate. It takes a few minutes to regain control but once I do Brent releases me and I walk over to her and sigh I know he is right. "Fine I'll wait but if I see him before you two find I will kill him", I tell him my voice turning dark.
