Hadlee watched her parents, Eric, Garold, his wife Samira, Dima and a few other high-level soldiers disappear into her father’s office and felt the bitterness of being left out fill her again. She knew something was going on. There was no way on earth her parents were spending an entire day home with her and Eric when the boys were with their grandparents. Her Dedushka and Babushka were great with the boys and took them often, but she knew when those chances happened, her parents often disappeared for hours. It made no sense for them to be there.
She looked to the other guard in the house and decided to see if she could get him to talk. She didn’t know him as well as Dima, but she’d been around him often enough.
