I sat on the floor, staring at the tray of food near the door. It was a plate of cold toast and a glass of water. They pushed it through the door like I was a dog. Like I was a dangerous animal in a cage. I hadn't eaten in two days. My stomach hurt, but I couldn't swallow. Every time I tried to eat, I felt like I was going to throw up. I looked around my old bedroom. It used to be my safe place. Now, it was a prison. The windows were locked. The door was bolted from the outside.
