I woke up to the sound of a door closing and Luca was already dressed. He wasn't wearing his hockey gear or casual clothes. He was wearing a sharp, expensive suit. He looked like a businessman, not an athlete. He was fixing his watch on his wrist, and he didn't even look at me. "I have to go," he said. His voice was flat. "I have meetings with the team owners. We are discussing new partnerships.." He finally turned to look at me. His eyes were cold. There was no warmth, no smile. Just orders. "Stay in the house, Ava," he commanded. "Do not leave.
