The words of Khalie, for whatever reason, suggested pain in his mind, or was it his heart or body? Luke knew it wasn’t a good feeling.
He found himself asking her.”Khalie, aren’t you willing to wait until I get better?”
“It’s for the best, Luke. I wish you happiness.” Khalie said with a slight smile on her face. Her eyes were completely void of emotion.
Luke looked at her and found she was serious, and he did not like her response to his question either.
