Calliope's P.O.V "Always a sight." Lutz says as soon as I step into his office. "Flattering won't get you any points." I say to him, throwing my ass down on the seat across from him. "I didn't think I'd need any" He gives me a smirk... So many people think that Lutz and I are a couple, but that is just what our friendship has been like. Over the years, he has been like a big brother to me, and to be honest, I loved the stupid ass. "So that envelope didn't give me much to go on with." I say cleaning my nails. "I'll be the distraction, and you do the rest." He says... "What's in that suitcase anyway and who is the guy?" "Knowing those things won't help you get what I need, just do as you're asked and everything will be okay." "Fine... I'm not seducing anyone." "You don't have to, you'll have a minute for the most, that is more than enough time." "You said that the last time and the old t**t grabbed my ass." "That's hardly calling it seducing someone, Calliope. Besides, you broke the poor fella's finger for that, so I would say you're even." "And I'd say you're an ass." "Go get changed we leave in a few hours." he says dismissing me. Do you know what the best part of living out in the open is? I take my time showering in Lutz's private room, and I'm careful not to mess up my hair and make-up, but my mind runs... back to my question... nights when the stars are out and the moon shines brighter than any streetlamp... When there is only a little breeze that makes the trees blow lightly, it honestly is the best way to fall asleep... A howl hooting in the distance, the sound of the night crickets and the waves crashing against the rocks not too far from the bridge I live under. There is something so satisfying about hearing all of this noise all at once... A night when it's too hot to sleep in your tent, a night when there is no violence, when it's just you and the surrounding sounds. On occasion, someone snores loudly or light drunken chatter or even mosquitoes buzzing, but I don't mind it. This is what sets my mind at ease. It puts me at peace when my mind races... When I miss mum... when things get so hard... those sounds, the moon and the stars they bring me peace. The water sprays cold, and I realized that I haven't even bathed myself yet. I was so lost in my thoughts. I let the water get cold but no matter, I wash up then step out and dry myself. I check myself in the mirror and I think I still look good. Teddy really does a flipping good job. Once I've gotten myself ready, I slip on my heels and spray myself with some of Lutz's perfume, then head back to his office... When in the club that he owns, it's kind of run down, but when people are drunk, I don't think they care much about that. All they care about is drugs, alcohol and a good time. All of the above are things you'll find at LUTZ. "Helped yourself with my things?" He asks, raising an eyebrow at me. "You don't pay enough for me to get my own, so I borrowed some of yours." I say... he pays well. I just don't have the spare change to buy myself smell nice stuff... Tayo likes to call it that. "Do you know you get more than most of the people that work for me?" "I sure as hell hope I do. I do some serious work for you." He laughs and shakes his head, then walks around the desk towards me and gives me his elbow. I slipped my hand through it and followed him out the door. Lutz isn't bad on the eyes... He's tall... always f*****g smells and dresses well... he has smokey brown eyes and a beard... he kind of has a dad bod, but it suits him well, so I guess that's a pull for him... Oh! And his hair is always sleeked back. You can never be too sure about what color is his natural color. He loves to change it. Lutz escorts me to one of his very fancy-looking long cars and holds the door for me while I slip in the back. He follows in behind me, and we're off. The first time I did this with him, I was so freaking nervous he had to hold my hand the whole way just to stop me from biting my nails. Lutz handles some calls while I stare out at the passing world before me, some of the places I have never been to, and I've lived in this town all my life. I marvel at the beautiful houses before me, and I'm lost in a fantasy of when I will have my own house just like these, how happy my siblings will be... But would I really be able to live in a home when I've lived outside for so long? The car comes to a stop and Lutz wastes no time. He's out by the door before I could ask if we have made it already... his outstretched hand tells me we have, and I scooted closer to the door, took his hand and climbed out. Before us is a big building. It's beautiful, like the kind of building you hold one of those fancy balls at. Lutz gives me his elbow again, and we're headed inside... he reminds me to shut my mouth before I catch any fire as I marvel at the high gold walls... the shiny damn lights. Why are there so many? In no time, we are in another room, a very huge room surrounded by so many people wearing their very best clothes... waiters walk with trays filled with champagne glasses, some with finger food, food I have never seen in my life before. Lutz grabs a glass off of a tray from a passing waiter.
