“Are you really that afraid I would cheat on you? I know you have issues and I understand your reasons, but can’t you trust me a little? I agreed to your conditions, didn’t I? I made promises to you. I won’t betray you.”
Andrea waited, but he didn’t speak even after a while.
Slowly, she pulled back her hand from his shoulder. Feeling its movement, Wayne caught it and sighed.
She’s right. He trusted her in all other areas, except her faithfulness to him. Unconsciously, he’d always questioned it. Whenever something comes up that might prove infidelity, he always assumes that she has betrayed him. He feels sick to his stomach at the realization.
He intertwined his fingers with hers and brought it to his lips. He kissed her knuckles. Her heart skipped a beat at his display of gentleness.
