When Wayne went to bed, he found her staring at the ceiling. He frowned as he lay next to her. “Are you . . .” He stopped. Maybe he shouldn’t ask her if she’s alright. Yesterday had clearly shaken her up. He sighed as he pulled her close to him, trying to comfort her with his presence. “What are you thinking?” he asked quietly, watching her expression closely. While she’s in the bathroom earlier, he’d already instructed his people to dig into Hayes’ activities.
